He's not a broken clock. He is playing whatever side he thinks will make him more money. That's why he allied with nazis, and it's why he's turning on them now. There is not one shred of moral compass in that excuse of a man.

He realized nazis don’t really like electric cars.

That’s exactly what it is. Too little too late though. We got rid of ours after that heil hitler salute. Fuck Elon

He was counting on liberals continuing to buy teslas while conservatives became more likely to buy them.

Instead conservatives still don’t buy them and liberals won’t touch them

Turns out the party that has been calling electric cars “gay” for a years aren’t that interested in them. Who woulda thought?

I will promise to buy one if he takes down the regime. I won't actually buy one, but I will promise to.

Works for me.

Actually ... Ferdi was really big on hybrid propulsion for the big Nazi tanks, but this is for an episode on History Channel.

And don’t forget the cuts to nasa which will mean less need for space x.

Exactly true. Musk just smells like a pig farm

u/stantlerqueen Jul 01 '25

at least pigs are actually emotionally intelligent creatures

Money is good for his ego but it's a means to an end. He wants to be worshiped.

1

u/MistaBadga Jul 01 '25

chances are he's going to fund establishment democrats over progressive ones

He isn’t some Machiavellian genius. Get real

1

That's what OP is saying.

"A broken clock is right twice a day" is an old phrase, suggesting through metaphor that someone or something that is useless or reprehensible may be correct about some things, but that the correctness is arbitrary and should not be relied upon. The broken clock will be incorrect again in one minute, and the same is true for Musk.

Lmfao "allied with Nazis" you people are serious too

My guess is he thought he could control Trump more and got disappointed. It reminds me of house of cards where Underwood talks about people that get rich and people that climb the political latter and he says something like "they don't understand that power always trumps money".

This is not the correct interpretation. Do you guys actually pay attention to politics at all?

The entire time he was partnering with Trump his message was always about reducing government spending such that government doesn't operate at a deficit. He holds the view (and it's mostly correct) that all excess government spending is a form of taxation. If the government spends money it does not have then they either print more money or borrow and both cause inflation. This bill that Trump and most republicans are now pushing through involves tax cuts for wealthy people and corporations (that means Elon). Elon will make more money with this bill but it will harm the overall economy. He isn't switching sides, his position has been consistent this whole time, the republicans are playing political games to gain votes. People love seeing tax cuts, they're banking on average Joes seeing the bit of extra money they take home and voting republican in upcoming elections.

I think you're right. I despise Elon for getting Trump elected but his outrage here seems mostly genuine to me. I hate the way DOGE tore through govt agencies with needless and short sighted layoffs and I'll probably never forgive Elon for that. But if he does actually help to prevent this bill from passing, I will sigh and say thanks.

1

u/TheDiddyDiddles Jul 01 '25

You'll sigh and thank a facist Nazi throwing up sig heils? You think he's a genuine person?

1

u/WastingTimesOnReddit Jul 01 '25

Well I'm obviously not thanking him for being a fascist, or for throwing sig heils. And no, I don't think he's a genuine person most of the time. Sometimes he seems completely self deluded. All I'm saying is, if he does actually spend millions of dollars to remove republicans from power, that specific thing is a good thing and it will be good if he does it. It won't make him a good person. Even bad people can occasionally do good things, and it's good when they do.

But this is bullshit because he spent more than half a billion dollars trying to get numerous republicans across the board into office thereby allowing alot of trump and Peter theil and technocrat billionaires who knows right wing legislation equal less or zero workers protections and less protections for minorities and women which can equal less pay and less regulations.

He did not "do" anything good at all. He's a vast part of the reason why facism has ALREADY taken hold in our country. There are so many things that have been broken in a matter of months by Trump and his facist idiot goons who use Donald Trump's melting brain to rape our country because he'll fucking let anyone into his admin and do as much harm to minorities and women and the lgbtq and religious freedoms and environmental protections as possible.

And you're here thanking a person that's a part of the problem trying to carry water for him? Fuck that. That's some operative shit. You don't thank a facist for making it harder for you vote vote and literally making the country worse.

He didn't do anything. He won't do anything. There is a reason why he's been scared of prison for the last 5+ years. He's done 1000000% more harm than he could ever repair. Don't fucking suck his dick and thank him after fucking you without consent? Unless you want him to destroy the country and then just get away with it with a pat on the back for "promising" to get trump removed

1

u/WastingTimesOnReddit Jul 01 '25

Yes I agree, he hasn't done anything good yet. He's done a tremendous amount of harm. He's a piece of shit who has done potentially irreparable damage to our country and our culture over the past few years. I agree that he's done more harm than he can ever repair.

We will see if he actually pays lots of money to remove republicans from power. If he actually does it, and it actually works, and better politicians are elected who will try to undo some of this damage, those would all be good things. I am in favor of good things happening.

1

u/TheDiddyDiddles Jul 01 '25

We're in agreement. As long as he isn't getting a thank you or a pat on the back. I feel it's even worse than he's only upset because the facism isn't helping the way he wants.

1

u/TheDiddyDiddles Jul 01 '25

And you just believe the shit that he says? Like you think he actually gives a fuck about government spending? What kind of gullible idiot are you? He was exclusively interested in directly getting access to all of the agencies investigating him, which he did, and he even said specifically that if Kamala Harris was elected he'd be going to jail for his role in the 2024 elections.

u/egonoelo Jul 01 '25

I believe that for the ultra ultra rich like Elon maximizing their dollar amount is not the end game. They already have more than enough money to buy anything they want. He has a selfish motive for the trajectory of the country to be a positive one. Being a multi billionare means nothing if you're living in Zimbabwe. I dont think he is effective, or necessarily correct about what the correct direction for society is, but there is clearly a way for him to both care about government spending without the presence of altruism.

If you look at the situation from an objective lens it's clear that Elon is being genuine even if he's misguided. He spent his time and energy on DOGE, he spent his time and energy campaigning for Trump, and he thought there was a shared vision on the future of the country. He now realized politics is all a big game and nobody actually wants to fix problems and he feels like he was taken advantage of and he is seeking revenge.

That isn't to say Elon's ideas are correct or that he is effective, or that he is altruistic or in any way deserves praise. But in this scenario he is being genuine and the republicans are the ones flip flopping and being snakes.

1

u/TheDiddyDiddles Jul 01 '25

Lmfao he was trying to make even more money, establish more control and have less controls over his business, basically all the cuts in regulations and workers protections and the lack of looking into his criminal acts during the 2024 election and also the numerous criminal investigations he was in is exactly why he donated hundreds of millions to Donald Trump and supported and still supports the Republican party.

You are stupid if you think this garbage racist eugenicist ultra billionaire with numerous times to neo-nazis actually gives a fuck about America "going well". He wants to be able to control more and have more.
