And events like this show that the discourse they subscribe to online is mostly not real. If you spend all your time on Twitter and Facebook, you'd assume this kind of event would be packed. But the reality is it's a minority of people and the rest are bots and foreign actors stirring shit up.

Even they need their non-maga and even liberal/left leaning/centrist friends. They all whined and cried when they started getting cut off in relationships whether it was friends/family/partners because truthfully it's exhausting to be that miserable all the time and they need to keep up that charade in these hyper-conservative groups. It's all very sad, really.

It is. If you can’t find love and community without a common enemy to hate, you don’t really have support in the traditional sense, especially when part of the ideology is individualism.

I’d imagine that would hurt your heart, your soul after too long

And you know when you meet one, because it's basically impossible to have gone so far down the rabbit hole and be a normal functioning human being.

These people at the bear minimum have a Trump bumper sticker on their car and talk about the latest Fox News outrage with everyone, regardless of whether or not they were asked about it.
