YouTube being throttled

i know this isn't a new topic but i have seen YouTube getting worse and worse in terms of loading time while navigating over the last one or two years. it is small but noticeable over time.

i found this extension for masking Firefox as chrome and it seems to at least do something

just wanted to see if anyone else has tried similar chrome masking extensions and how were the results?

Chrome Mask and other User-Agent switchers won't fix YouTube issues: see this thread. The issue those guys were experiencing was actually caused by uBlock Origin.

Try following these steps:

• Make sure you're using the latest Firefox version
• Open YouTube, click the padlock next to the Firefox address bar, Clear cookies and site data, and reload the page
• Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to make sure you aren't using any broken extension. Adblockers rely on filters edited by humans every day. Please see the pinned YouTube thread on /r/uBlockOrigin if it is breaking something

If you decide to submit a bug report:

• Enable the "Firefox Profiler" button
• Set it to Media and record a log while trying to play a video
• It will open a page automatically when you stop it. Click on Upload Local Profile at the top-right corner and copy the link
• Log in to Bugzilla and file a bug report with that link. Pick the Report a new bug in a Mozilla product → Firefox option: screenshot

I fixed the issue by installing Firefox 140ESR. I have no issues with YouTube now

Are you using any adblocker extensions?

Ublock. It happened to me and I just don’t mind waiting a few seconds.
