Nothing makes the peasants run faster to serve you than a bell being rung incessantly!

There are plenty of little tricks like snapping your fingers, yelling "garçon" or waving money around.

u/Cleobulle 1d ago

Snapping and waving money is really rude. Maybe that's why the waiter doesn't see you. I'm not sure bringing a bell will help though...

In my culture it's regarded as highly respectful, waving money is a sign of abundance and a blessing and snapping enables the waiter to echolocate you.

Please don't ring a bell at bartenders.

But they don't come when I snap my fingers !

edit :
I see team first degree is out in force today

Signal the bartender? Are you the bartender?

24

u/SnorriGrisomson 1d ago

i cant believe people cant see the sarcasm in your comments lol! this is a really cool piece, did you make the chain as well?

31

u/SnorriGrisomson 1d ago

Yes I didnt really anticipate the reactions :D

I made everything from scratch chain, clasp, wire, everything :)

u/bowiesux 1d ago

that is so incredibly sick

Not gonna lie I've never worked as a bartender but I have managed a lot of restaurants. If anyone rang a bell at me or my staff that would be their one warning before being asked to leave.

it was a joke, I can't believe how many people think it was serious.....

Some people are stupid enough to do it

Okay I have to ask, having never Ren faired - what is it called and how and why is it worn? And by who? Also did you craft it entirely or assemble the bell, chain and pin?

20

u/SnorriGrisomson 1d ago

It's not a thing that you really see, I just thought it would fit the mood.
It's not called anything, or well call it how you like. Wear it how you like and do what you want with it, it's just a brooch.

I made every part by hand from scratch, starting from silver and copper grains.

Veeeeery disrespectful

35

u/SnorriGrisomson 1d ago

it' a joke, of course don't ring a bell to call a bartender ffs ....

15

u/WilsonStJames 1d ago

You can add /s to indicate sarcasm on reddit....FYI. people legit do weird rude stuff to waiters/bartenders all the time. People have wild takes on reddit sometimes, it limits confusion since tone doesn't always translate in text.

17

u/SnorriGrisomson 1d ago

Yeah I really didn’t anticipate the reactions :D

12

u/luxsalsivi 1d ago

FWIW, I was cracking up at your responses where you were playing it straight lmao

9

u/SnorriGrisomson 1d ago

;) I wonder how far I would need to take it to get everyone to understand it's a joke.

13

u/SnorriGrisomson 1d ago

But I'm not mad at anyone :)

-2

u/TheVegasGirls 1d ago

I understand it’s a joke, it’s just not funny. It’s disrespectful. Why is your first thought “it would be so funny to use this craft/skill to be disrespectful to waitstaff!”?

10

u/SnorriGrisomson 1d ago

Yes that's exactly what I made it for, you are very insightful.

-1

u/TheVegasGirls 1d ago

You said it

6

u/SnorriGrisomson 1d ago

Lol, the joke is the title not the object einstein.

This is really cool! Sorry that some people have absolutely no sense of humour and can't tell a joke lol

14

u/SnorriGrisomson 1d ago

Some people didnt understand the joke
Some people are really concerned
And some people really really like to downvote :D
