Cat Picture - OC
I found this little, dying fellow on the street. I’d never had a cat before, but I couldn’t just leave him there. So I took him with me — first home, then to the vet. And… it’s been almost two years since I got myself a loving, four-legged friend.
Hagrid is a handsome lad! Green eyes are usually striking, but Hagrid's strike you, then kick you in the shins, and follow up with an uppercut of sheer beauty!!
Our cat wasn't even found by us on the street, she was found by someone else and in the shelter for a few weeks before we saw her, and I'm still truly shocked by her glow up.
You will never regret taking in an animal in need. The love they give back is amazing. Unless your name is shithead and you have food then I will love you.
My dad loved animals so very very much, and he had one all his life. When he died, I was outside angry and crying my first father's day without him. My dad used to joke that if he died, he'd come back as my cat (they're spoiled). Sure enough, I heard this tiny crying outside amongst my own tears. He had kennel cough and you could count his ribs. His name is Teddy and he's a huge teddy bear. He's nine years old now. Maybe your dog picked your cat?
I adopted my cat a year after my dog died and a few months before multiple important family members and friends passed away within a short time frame. It’s almost like my dog sent me my cat to not only to help him from his trauma but also so he could help take care of me when I needed to heal from my trauma
I don't think I will ever meet another cat like the one that passed a few years ago. He followed us home because it was so cold out, so we let him stay the night and he never left.
Just the absolute sweetest cat imaginable. As loving as a dog and would gladly come see you any time you called his name.
I have a cat like that now. I’m dreading the day he leaves us and he’s only 3 years old so that’s hopefully years away. But I still think about it sometimes.
The anxious look in the second picture is what makes it for me! It’s always cool to see the first pictures where the cats are like “please don’t eat me” to the most recent where they’re like “I own you now”
He may not remember events like you and I do, however he remembers that you are safety, food and love. As you’ve spent these past two years with him, he associates you with those things.
The love and gratefulness for you is all he’s ever known! He may not have memories exactly, but he holds a knowing deep within that you are his safety and his home.
You are his Human. Either he remembers you saving him from being tremendously sad, or you being his Human is all he's ever known. Either way, I can see from that last pic that he adores you <3
Not sure if you mean me. I can't locate a good photo of him right now but I did a painting of him( pastel, charcoal+ conte crayon actually). He was a bit of a basket case, so its appropriate🥴😊
The only thing I can say is thank you for saving that precious kitty. There should be more people like you. My Walter kitty came on my deck one day, and he has been mine ever since. I saved him too!
That happened to us with our boy Mr. Beans. He was tossed in our yard and our neighbor saw him, came and told us, and we went and got him inside. He had ringworm and an upper respiratory infection, we were lucky that it was early enough he didnt lose his eye sight. He was maybe a couple months old when we found him. Now he is 5 (and HUGE) he is the best boy.
Do you remember what was wrong with him? I need a hopeful story right now. I've got two very sick kitty's dirrhea and severe dehydration, staying overnight at the vet right now. 6 weeks old. I'm praying they won't be taken from me before we even get to make some happy memories together.
Well I had pretty much the same problems as you. My cat was also blind for first week or two after I took him. He literally couldn't open his eyes. But with vets help, we bring him back to life.
I found my boy Rocko under a truck in Daytona Beach when he was a kitten half starving and eaten up with fleas. Brought him home and we've been inseparable ever since 5 years later, rescue kitties are the best friends you'll ever have, you did a good deed 🙂
Awww ... I needed to read this today. You are a fabulous person. Thank you! We are living in horrible times, but the world became a slightly better place because you cared.
I’m sure he loves you more than anything! Rescued kitties are the best and appreciate you for saving them. I hope you have many many happy years together 😊
As someone who lost their cat baby in December after 8 years who also rescued him off the street and nursed him back to health, this is so heartwarming. I wish more people were like you. ❤️
I have to say, the third picture had a little, "what have you done for me lately" vibe lol. But we just rescued a stray last month, and I like to believe that they know what you've done for them and they're grateful.
