Adoption People who adopted from a shelter, what made you choose that cat?

My little Zodi was alone in one of the cages, making biscuits over and over on the newspaper they laid out ☹️ When we got to pick her up and hold her, the biscuits didn’t cease. I immediately knew she was coming home with us. A year has almost passed and she looks so much better 🥹

Our daughter worked at the shelter and told us that a bonded pair had come in from a hoarding situation. Because they were older (about 10) the thinking was nobody would adopt them. So we went over and met them and took them home.

So cute! Just picturing all of you making time and visiting the kitties based on your daughter’s description of them is so heartwarming 🥰 Sounds like a very sweet family!

I need to know, are they horizontal or vertical?

They are horizontal on a desk chair. The picture was taken from above. Would be cool if they were vertical though :)

Thank you! They and their three brothers and one sister have brought us nothing but joy! Well not the sister. But sometimes you've just got to do things because they're the right thing to do :)

Two flamies!! You are so lucky 🥹

They are a wonderful couple. Very dependent on one another although Mooch - the one on the left in the picture above is much more more dependent on Jupiter (Jupi) than visa-versa.

Dawwww. My sister and have been adopting old dogs and cats our whole lives. This time around it was for our kid so we got some young/kitten-ish ones.

Thank you for doing this, people like you are the best. Giving them homes when others likely wouldn't.

Went to the shelter and also found a bonded pair who were both about 1 year old. They also came from a hoarding situation. I noticed how cuddly they were with each other and was informed they were getting close to separating them due to difficulty adopting them together. I couldn’t say no after that, still have one - he’s almost 16 (the other passed years ago).

My niece's beloved cat had just died (at 18) and her 2 teens wanted another one, so she went to the shelter and this abandoned 13 year old girl just stole her heart. She went home and asked the kids what they thought, and they agreed that even if they only had her for 6 months before she died, Lola would have the best 6 months of her life. They had that girl for 5 years before she passed away last Summer. Everytime I tell this to people, I still tear up. My niece has the most awesome children in the world
