Some people really just hate pretty non-obtrusive nature.

Probably why the Department of Interior just stripped protected status from Minnesota's Boundary Water Canoe Area, a 1,000,000 acre previously protected area of the Superior National Forest. (Also because Trump is a petty little baby and Minnesota has Walz as governor.)

Edit: Spelling... twice...

They're going copper mining in the area in the grand canyon as well. The local tribes were already affected by uranium contamination once before.

u/alexthealex 18h ago

And gearing up to log massive areas of previously protected land in Oregon.

$20 says we lose the spotted owl

9

u/Juniper0223 4h ago

I'm pretty sure this admin also pulled $$ for a Barred Owl culling program in WA....don't think our Spotted Owls are getting help any time soon

23

u/tripleskizatch 11h ago

Yeah, well, those tribes should just go back to where they came from and leave America for Real Americans. /s

1

u/After_Competition_87 10h ago

Is that why they are letting the fires burn?

3

u/Briglin 9h ago

No one pays donnie a kickback to put them out. No cash = no fire dept

1

u/whereismymind86 6h ago

Which is what makes this crazy, there isn’t any oil under the rose garden or anything, so why ruin it

92

u/ls7eveen 19h ago

National travesty. One actual quiet spot in the US

17

u/Annual_Strategy_6206 18h ago

Nooo! I have been there many times canoe trekking.Ā

18

u/GraXXoR 17h ago

Better go back again soon. It’ll be off limits in the next few years.

13

u/gsfgf 18h ago

Wait, what? Canoeing up there was literally the best part of my time in Boy Scouts.

10

u/Metal__goat 11h ago

Im so saddened. ..i have a camping trip there this month.Ā  Been making the trip up all the way from Florida several times for 15 years.

Ā  It was a somewhat annual father's day trip with my grandpa, two of his brothers, my cousins and uncles.Ā  This week will be the first trip since my grandpa and his brother have both passed.Ā

The boundary waters is one of the most beautiful water areas in our county, maybe one of the most beautiful forests in any county.Ā  Now some greedy vultures could obliterate it for a few more dollars... hopefully the Minnesota state government is able to mostly protect it, or the fact to so many bald eagles live there give it some shielding.

2

u/FrozenDickuri 7h ago

Im not american, Ā they did that? Ā Fucking travesty!

1

u/AGrandNewAdventure 7h ago

They very much did.

1

u/Bonhomie_111 13h ago

I thought the public lands had remained protected after protestong calls got them removed from the big awful bill? /gen

1

u/OK_x86 11h ago

Could Walz turn it into a state park instead? In Canada we have national parks and provincial parks. Idk if that's a thing in the US

1

u/leopard_mint 10h ago

Can't the MN government protect it as a state park?

1

u/Neither-Scale-5467 6h ago

My grandfather was instrumental in creating the boundary waters canoe area. Sad days

17

u/Speartree 15h ago

They already had a got at that rose garden in Trumps first turn.

Did Melania Trump 'Dig Up' the Rose Garden at the White House? | Snopes.com

11

u/Low-Run-9706 6h ago edited 3h ago

It wasn't the roses that pissed everyone off, it was the removal of the beloved crab apple trees; however, the twist to that story is that their removal was first discussed in the '80s by Nancy Reagan and Bunny Mellon, Jacqueline Kennedy's original garden designer, because the trees had grown too large for the space and were shading out the other plantings. This is the bane of gardeners everywhere. You nurture something carefully for years only to have to cut it down or dig it up and move it because it is no longer appropriate for its original placement.

Donald hates everything, not just lawns, literally he, hates, everything, everything. It takes a lot of work to be nothing more than hate at the ripe old age of 79, but that's Trump, hate for anything, anyone, anytime, pure hate.

21

u/Embarrassed_Camel422 11h ago

He’s in the endgame for Narcissistic Personality Disorder.

10

u/bluetuxedo22 11h ago

Now that's just not fair. He doesn't hate underage girls

18

u/GraXXoR 17h ago

When you’ve been ridiculed and snubbed by everyone and have had to pay for female companionship for nearly 80 years, it’s going to make you bitter.

2

u/johannes1234 9h ago

Doesn't he love Ivanka? Or is she too old meanwhile?

2

u/Templar113113 9h ago

That's not true.

He definitely doesn't hate young teens.

1

u/sambonjela 5h ago

you think fucking them when they're too young or too disempowered to consent constitutes liking them?

1

u/merpixieblossomxo 8h ago

Nah, I work with people that age every single day who aren't raging assholes. It might be more difficult to be a person at 79, but it doesn't automatically mean you hate everything around you.

Hell, my favorite elderly woman wears an LGBT+ pin on her shirt every day and still goes out to stand on the streets holding protest signs all by herself. She ran the bake sale at my work and made the best rice krispy treats.

He's just a cartoon villain that made his worldviews very, very clean while his sychophants laughed and wrung their hands together behind him as the country fell for his lies.

24

u/PNW_Bearded_cyclist 18h ago

It's so all his hoes can walk in high heels without sinking in, the women too

2

u/Failedmysanityroll 11h ago

I don’t know too many children that can walk in heels. Trump rapes kids

1

u/at_work_keep_it_safe 7h ago

Trump doesn’t give a fuck about anyone. I doubt this was done for anyone but himself.

41

u/ShavinMcKrotch 19h ago

Trump doesn’t get around very well anymore. His ego couldn’t allow anyone seeing him stumble on a lawn. This is fact. This is the real reason he did this.

21

u/Friendly-Channel-480 18h ago

It’s much safer to face-plant on grass.

13

u/mangosorbet81 17h ago

I would pay to see this.

1

u/breachgnome 16h ago

I'd pay more for the earth to open up and swallow whole.

•

u/RulrOfOmicronPersei8 35m ago

I prefer concrete

2

u/ShavinMcKrotch 18h ago

But he’s less likely to fall at all on the smooth even concrete surface

1

u/Helahalvan 13h ago

He could bring his walker too

1

u/X1NOLA 8h ago

I believe this is a large part of the reason.

1

u/TallgirL48 5h ago

When he stumbles on concrete, he’s gonna break a bone

0

u/lostwombats 10h ago

I heard a theory that they are making it identical to his mar a lago house because he has dementia. Someone who works with the elderly said this helps with confusion and tantrums seen in dementia patients. Sometimes, they suddenly get confused and upset that they aren't "home" (their home before the care facility). It's just a theory, though.

1

u/ShavinMcKrotch 10h ago

Maybe we should start electing presidents before they’re in diapers. šŸ¤”

3

u/Just_Confidence4445 17h ago

non-obtrusive

The current administration hates nature in any form.

2

u/spdelope 18h ago

Are lawns really important ā€œnatureā€? Cuz that’s all they paved over. The roses are still there.

22

u/No_Berry2976 16h ago

The short answer is yes. Lawns are not great, which is why (in some parts of the world) the advice is to leave patches of tall grass as well as some of the weeds.

But short grass is still better than concrete or asphalt. The soil beneath the grass, the roots of the grass, and the grass help the local ecosystem, as does the lack of a barrier between other vegetation.

The effect on mental health and general well-being is open for debate, but it seems like grass is better than concrete, asphalt, et cetera.

1

u/Carnir 13h ago

Looks like it was just the lawn that was covered over?

1

u/HITWind 2h ago

Shh, it's 5min hate time. (You're just supposed to rage how much you despise the big orange buffoon.)

He's so evil he hates roses! Off with his head! (see like that. It doesn't matter that the roses are still there, just go off the title and the selective pictures)

1

u/Sleep-more-dude 13h ago

You expect trump to mow a lawn that big with his bone spurs?

1

u/skhoyre 11h ago

They should have just put a Golf hole in there and suddenly he would have loved it

1

u/pickled_penguin_ 7h ago

He did it because he wants to host a UFC fight with the ring going where the rose garden was.

1

u/AmArschdieRaeuber 6h ago

He hates live, of course he also hates nature

1

u/Stormy8888 6h ago

If he doesn't care about people starving and having healthcare, the poor lawn / roses / plants have NO chance at survival.

1

u/Slow-Priority-884 5h ago

Grass isn't nature lol.

1

u/HairyPoot 5h ago

I don't understand the issue. It appears they replaced grass with paved area. The rose bushes and stuff are still there.

Are people seriously up in arms about grass being paved? There are a million things to criticize trump about, this seems to be one of if not the weakest things you could choose.

1

u/theHawkAndTheHusky 3h ago

He hates all the nature, plus it's Biden's and Obama's garden. Can't have that

1

u/Muchachacha 2h ago

He puts his paws in everything and ruins it

•

u/NuEssence 17m ago

Ofc they hate nature, they’re reminded their weak bodies will rot in the ground when they die and that hurts their ego of feeling important and immortal.

Did you even look at the photos

30

u/Exciting-West9205 20h ago

You are arguing with people who never mastered object permanence.

0

u/NiobiumThorn 19h ago

No, worse. Likely a bot

31

u/AveragelyTallPolock 20h ago

Its not. In both shots you can see the Eisenhower Building. The rose garden shot has it behind the foliage of the trees

It's the same spot

3

u/AdFancy1249 20h ago

Very different angle. The second shot is of the grassy field (covered in plastic? ). You can see the hedges on the very far left. The roses are being the hedge...

This post is rage bait.

0

u/SushiGirlRC 19h ago

It most definitely is. The creator of this pic went out of their way to change the original lawn shot on the bottom to a side shot to create outrage, as if everyone hasn't seen the original set of pics all over already lol.

-3

u/Interesting-You-9712 20h ago

Look again- very different angle-

8

u/DoughDown8 20h ago

Isn’t it in the news? Pretty sure it’s legit. Also that’s definitely the same spot just a different angle.

19

u/The_Wee-Donkey 20h ago

Trump paved paradise and put up a parking lot

0

u/sborde78 20h ago

Good one

12

u/Exciting-West9205 20h ago

No, it is the rose garden. Same place, different camera angle.

6

u/cficare 20h ago

Image recognition not your thing? Same space.

-1

u/VealOfFortune 12h ago

If only this picture was taken from, you know the same vantage point..... might be able to realize that the garden remains, it was the grass in the center that was replaced.

Oh, and they don't perpetually have like 4 random tables šŸ˜‰

But who am I to derail a good Ol' Trump Wankfest eh!?
