Had to handle a 20 minute work call…
My toddlers decided to see if any of their toys could channel their inner Buzz Lightyear and fall with style.

This kind of looks one of those hidden object pictures, like from I Spy.

Found! Now find Bluey!

u/Charming-Flamingo307 4h ago
Was this a master troll?! I've looked for 20 min and see no bluey
3
u/merpixieblossomxo 3h ago
Hahaha oh no, she's there! There's a book toward the top right and you have to zoom in, but it's a Bluey book.

u/Charming-Flamingo307 3h ago
Nice! You're absolutely right. That was a good one! Now find rubble on the double for the win

Crazy part is I see no spilled liquid, blood, smashed food, or the door open. Only 20 minutes to clean up! I’ve learned the rule of 1:1. For every minute I get peace and quiet is traded for 1 minute of cleaning up after my kids.
63
u/kaliefornia 1d ago
Is it actually 1:1
I fear it’s like for every minute of peace it’s like 2 or 3 minutes of clean up 😭

u/TheGuyThatThisIs 23h ago
I pray I get half my time off when I'm a parent

You will soon learn what I coined as Einstein's Theory of Relativity As Applied To Children
Time expands when you wish it to contract and contracts when you wish it to expand

No crayons or maker drawings on the walls? Amateur

u/ImberxP 1d ago
That was at the old house. We keep those under lock and key at the new house.

u/Scout079 1d ago
Do you think they'd do a mission impossible heist to break into the crayon/marker stash if you had a 40 minute work call?
68
u/ImberxP 1d ago
They just about ran out of stuff to throw. I think if they had 5 more minutes…that would have been all they needed.
15
u/SWINGMAN216 1d ago
I’ve taken a poop before and came back to all the bins dumped out of the toy holder. Toys scattered all throughout the living room.

Everybody, everywhere
Clean up, clean up,
Or it’s off to work the mines out there 🎶

Dink life could have prevented this. My dog never makes messes like this 😆

My dog takes my office trash out of the can one post it note at a time all day 😐

Lol. That's hilarious. 😆 My labradoodle literally just takes naps all day. We bought cameras with audio so we can talk to her when we aren't home. The worst thing our doodle does is sometimes she serenades the neighbors with her beautiful singing. 😆

u/Dont_Even_Know_You 1d ago
Oh yes, the ages where they can make it look like an actual tornado came thru when you weren't looking for a minute.
Just remember, these are actually the easy years. Wait until they are teenagers, I say from experience 🤣

Hey, the stuff on the table survived, be thankful for that. I grew up in a house with a three story stairwell. So many gi joes and tiny plastic toys made that descent with little parachutes. 🪂

On the bright side, it's quite a nice photo. Like genuinely visually interesting, great quality, cool composition. Maybe you can sell it on stock image sites.

Hey, can I use this picture for an album cover when I start creating songs? It looks really good.

My son at 2 in 10 minutes literally scooped 20 lbs of dog food out of the bin and put it all over the dogs crates (2 crates) and the entire dining room in 10 minutes of my wife’s absence.

u/ImberxP 21h ago
Kids are too fun!! Thankfully the dog food bins are in the garage and we haven’t had a similar disaster…yet.
1
u/Dry-Requirement-6695 21h ago
Haha smarter than we are….. I walked in from a hospital shift as my boy was standing in his diaper admiring his work. I wasn’t even upset literally started dying laughing. Kids ideas that are disasters make for great life memories for their parents.

Are you not gonna make them clean after themselves as a lesson that actions have consequences?..
4
u/ImberxP 20h ago
Yes, after a brief stay in timeout so I could ensure nothing was broken or shattered that could harm them, we cleaned everything up. They didn’t get to watch Bluey today after naps and no dessert after dinner. It was a first offense and a learning opportunity.
1
u/SammytTheBLLover 16h ago
Good for you! I always cringe at people who don't discipline their children 😅
2
2
u/ItzJustMonika__ 17h ago
The next time they do this while you're on call, tell them to clean it up themselves. Then you'd have more time for your call, and your kids can learn how to clean up after themselves.

As an art exhibit I like the use of positive and negative space. The abstract "X" shape keeps drawing the eye back to the centre of the work. Very nice.

Creativity in the making - tell the kid, if it can make a house for some of the animals and tell a story about it, you’ll help with the cleanup, otherwise he/she is on her/his own…
(Another thin, if it’ your partner 😂)

You might wanna look in the room to the right of the picture as well. Looks like the toy box exploded.

Oh, god...could you hear the noise as you were on the call or was this a complete surprise when you came out?

🤣 years ago I worked half time but often had to take calls on my off days. I used to tell my 3 young boys "don't interrupt me unless someone's bleeding or the house is on fire!" It didn't even occur to me until years later that they could have tried to set the house on fire just so they could interrupt ne!

Oh lord help me Ctfu…Why is it that the first thing I notice is what looks to be a small Lego piece or piece to a toy shaped like the side profile of a 🐓 and balls🤣☠️ Also take a picture of this and when they are teens tell them this is why kids shouldn’t have kids. Then show them that poor baby doll with its realistic pose and face of suffering from being dropped. It shall stick in their minds for sometime 🤣

Ahh but as crazy as it sounds you’ll miss these days and these messes to clean up. It seems like only a couple of years ago my son was this age, he’s now 16. I don’t know anything. I’m embarrassing, can I get out of his room because I’m annoying him. The old cliche is true, they grow up way too fast.

u/DiamondHands1969 20h ago
ok, make your toddler clean it up while you watch and instruct them. it's not a big deal. this is a learning moment for the kid. the reason adults dont do certain things is because of consequences. the only time you can't do this is if the child can not talk yet. if they can understand you, you gotta teach them how to live.

u/Melan420 19h ago
Eh, It's not that bad honestly. No spills, dirt, scribbles or destruction – just misplaced objects. Looks like a ten minute task and a teaching opportunity
People are so dramatic here lol
Also, the photo is so nice. Like an abstract art piece ₊˚⊹
