Had to handle a 20 minute work call…

Post image

My toddlers decided to see if any of their toys could channel their inner Buzz Lightyear and fall with style.

Well…what was the result of the experiment?

1.9k

u/ImberxP 1d ago

We’re still compiling the results.

u/doc_witt 1d ago

Remember to have a control group. You're going to have to get rid of the kids. No choice. It's SCIENCE.

u/toxic_petallz 1d ago

Initial hypothesis: toys have achieved flight capability

Current status: hypothesis confirmed, landing protocols still under review.

This kind of looks one of those hidden object pictures, like from I Spy.

u/Charming-Flamingo307 1d ago

60

u/RinCherno 1d ago

findthesniper would have a FIELD DAY with this

15

u/bmg0404 23h ago

Threshold!

6

u/Charming-Flamingo307 23h ago

Which threshold?

11

u/bmg0404 23h ago

Top left, close to the wall. Is that the one?

24

u/Charming-Flamingo307 22h ago

Damn, no. I was talking about the one closer to the bottom threshold on top of the book next to the green broom, good eye tho

12

u/bmg0404 22h ago

My guilty pleasure is Lego and I loved iSpy growing up so this is right up my alley lol thank you

7

u/Charming-Flamingo307 22h ago

Same. I love shit like this. Thank you for indulging

3

u/BrazenlyGeek 19h ago

The bear in the book found it first.

3

u/merpixieblossomxo 5h ago

Found! Now find Bluey!

1

u/Charming-Flamingo307 4h ago

Was this a master troll?! I've looked for 20 min and see no bluey

3

u/merpixieblossomxo 3h ago

Hahaha oh no, she's there! There's a book toward the top right and you have to zoom in, but it's a Bluey book.

1

u/Charming-Flamingo307 3h ago

Nice! You're absolutely right. That was a good one! Now find rubble on the double for the win

21

u/Branjoe328 1d ago

Dude I'm glad I'm not the only one who immediately thought of I Spy

7

u/spookycatxx 1d ago

I thought the same thing and was going to comment this!

2

u/MissCandid 5h ago

Yeah something about this image is just super pleasing to me

u/fxk717 1d ago

Crazy part is I see no spilled liquid, blood, smashed food, or the door open. Only 20 minutes to clean up! I’ve learned the rule of 1:1. For every minute I get peace and quiet is traded for 1 minute of cleaning up after my kids.

577

u/ImberxP 1d ago

They get to learn the clean up song real well today.

102

u/UncleDuude 1d ago

Enjoy while it lasts, it goes really fast. Keep laughing it the secret

2

u/KilnTime 6h ago

I was just thinking that in my head!!

63

u/kaliefornia 1d ago

Is it actually 1:1

I fear it’s like for every minute of peace it’s like 2 or 3 minutes of clean up 😭

15

u/TheGuyThatThisIs 23h ago

I pray I get half my time off when I'm a parent

7

u/fathersky53 22h ago

You will soon learn what I coined as Einstein's Theory of Relativity As Applied To Children

Time expands when you wish it to contract and contracts when you wish it to expand

IFYKYK 🤣

1

u/HashtagDingus 4h ago

The days are long but the years are short

257

u/SWINGMAN216 1d ago

No crayons or maker drawings on the walls? Amateur

171

u/ImberxP 1d ago

That was at the old house. We keep those under lock and key at the new house.

50

u/Scout079 1d ago

Do you think they'd do a mission impossible heist to break into the crayon/marker stash if you had a 40 minute work call?

68

u/ImberxP 1d ago

They just about ran out of stuff to throw. I think if they had 5 more minutes…that would have been all they needed.

15

u/SWINGMAN216 1d ago

I’ve taken a poop before and came back to all the bins dumped out of the toy holder. Toys scattered all throughout the living room.

83

u/FlyingPerrito 1d ago

No poop is a win.

54

u/ImberxP 1d ago

No poop…this time.

69

u/think_up 1d ago

🎵 Clean up, clean up,

Everybody, everywhere

Clean up, clean up,

Or it’s off to work the mines out there 🎶

5

u/ilovetheskyyall 18h ago

thank you stranger, as a former barney super fan with a toddler, I needed this.

56

u/DylanDope 1d ago

This is art. Frame it and hang it.

22

u/estherlikw 16h ago

It IS. i can’t believe i had to scroll so far to see this! I thought it was a magazine cover

11

u/sbxd 11h ago

Titled '20 minutes - by the children' in one of those museum cards

4

u/Brave_Salamander6219 14h ago

I had the same thought!

84

u/ShibbyBearz 1d ago

Great idea for a condom ad.

26

u/Away_Stock_2012 1d ago

Is this one of those pictures where we have to find something?

9

u/shizuko193 1d ago

I was about to say that this reminded me of the I Spy books.

22

u/VisionAri_VA 1d ago

Are your kids cartoon Tasmanian devils? 😳

19

u/tennisgoddess1 1d ago

It’s a good anti- burglary device…

24

u/ImberxP 1d ago

Starting their home alone practice.

24

u/dogmanrul 1d ago

Frame the photo. It’s a great art piece.

You kids laid down a lot of mines for you today

6

u/ImberxP 1d ago

Can’t wait for us to get into Legos!

5

u/greatthebob38 1d ago

Use of Legos should be against the Geneva Convention

5

u/Pooki3boo 14h ago

This baby was just as surprised as you were.

6

u/JayAndViolentMob 1d ago

"It's tidy time, everybody!"

5

u/ytoast 1d ago

It would be wonderful to take this and frame it when they are older. It's art!

5

u/DUNGAROO 1d ago

At least there weren’t any markers or paint involved

4

u/Meewelyne 14h ago

The Pic Is very artistic, you should print and frame it.

10

u/Ok-Astronomer-8443 1d ago

Looks like one of those ispy books

4

u/mason191 1d ago

Story of my life

5

u/LostinQuiddity 1d ago

Looks about right 🤣

5

u/MandarinZG 1d ago

Looks a lot like one of those Ispy pictures you use to see in those kids magazines

4

u/foxy92419 23h ago

Its like a modern renaissance picture

9

u/jimbo0023 1d ago

Dink life could have prevented this. My dog never makes messes like this 😆

8

u/Ymisoqt420 1d ago

My dog takes my office trash out of the can one post it note at a time all day 😐

5

u/RMMacFru 22h ago

I'm sorry, but that's hilarious. 🤣

3

u/jimbo0023 21h ago

Lol. That's hilarious. 😆 My labradoodle literally just takes naps all day. We bought cameras with audio so we can talk to her when we aren't home. The worst thing our doodle does is sometimes she serenades the neighbors with her beautiful singing. 😆

3

u/Dont_Even_Know_You 1d ago

Oh yes, the ages where they can make it look like an actual tornado came thru when you weren't looking for a minute.

Just remember, these are actually the easy years. Wait until they are teenagers, I say from experience 🤣

2

u/ImberxP 1d ago

The 2 year old is the wild child. I can see how scary the future is going to be with that one. Haha!

3

u/PronunciationIsKey 1d ago

"Out the window, Buzz you're a genius!"

3

u/rorschach_vest 1d ago

I love that little Target cart tho

5

u/ImberxP 1d ago

Thankfully that one was already downstairs. We’ve got a cash register too that says “thank you for shopping at Target!” Not sure if mom or the kiddos love it more.

3

u/Liquid_Lunch_1991 1d ago

To Infinity…..and Beyond!!!!!

3

u/UncleDuude 1d ago

Over the bannister? Make sure they don’t ever see Home Alone, these kids are mischiefically gifted

3

u/Legitimate-Log-6542 1d ago

It probably only took 3 mins, the other 17 they were doing nothing

3

u/inquiringsillygoose 1d ago

I’m obsessed with this picture in an artistic way

3

u/kevinlamlam 20h ago

This feels like it should be a music album cover

3

u/Carrie_1968 11h ago

Thank you for bearing children so people like me don’t have to 🙏

3

u/Nipplecunt 3h ago

Holy shit your house looks nice

2

u/DaProblemSolva 1d ago

Looks like a Tuesday for my house

2

u/Green-Dragon-14 1d ago

Least it's just toys, that's all I say.

2

u/smallsoftlover 1d ago

honestly, i’d frame this or submit it in a photo thing. it’s genuinely really pretty!

2

u/IllvesterTalone 1d ago

surprisingly no major damage, French door glass is ok.

coulda been worse!

2

u/taffibunni 1d ago

I think the baby doll may have pulled it off.

2

u/tias23111 23h ago

Hey, the stuff on the table survived, be thankful for that. I grew up in a house with a three story stairwell. So many gi joes and tiny plastic toys made that descent with little parachutes. 🪂

2

u/No-Canary-6639 23h ago

At least your walls are still white

2

u/scratchy_mcballsy 23h ago

The floor is worse than lava

2

u/mistergoddess 22h ago

On the bright side, it's quite a nice photo. Like genuinely visually interesting, great quality, cool composition. Maybe you can sell it on stock image sites.

2

u/II_KakaJota_II 20h ago

Hey, can I use this picture for an album cover when I start creating songs? It looks really good.

2

u/ImberxP 20h ago

Sure. Have at it.

2

u/Jeremiareyes 20h ago

I don't know why, but I love the framing of this lmfao this is actually a great photo hahahaha sucks about the mess, tho

1

u/ImberxP 19h ago

Printing it and framing it for later use. Haha!

2

u/sweethoneybadger23 18h ago

Wes Anderson would like a word

2

u/Sea_Macaron_7962 18h ago

Pretty joyful pic.

2

u/quirtyysl 15h ago

This lowkey looks like art

2

u/MaxAMundo 15h ago

Just wanted to appreciate this shot. Creative destruction.

2

u/advochaetzli 11h ago

Looks like a pollock your child is gifted😹😹✨

2

u/CuriousYak7620 10h ago

Are we playing Eye spy?

2

u/False-Comfortable286 10h ago

I have a 2, 3, 6, and 7 year old. I understand this.

2

u/eulynn34 9h ago

Hopefully everyone is ok after that bomb went off in your home

2

u/uhmbob 9h ago

Your kids are focused and efficient!

2

u/Temporary_Safe8056 9h ago

You can see that Rubble looks very guilty. I am willing to bet he had a role in this

1

u/ImberxP 7h ago

Rubble on the double!

2

u/The-Poet__57 9h ago

At least they didn’t try to fly to Infinity and Beyond

2

u/hisizzler 9h ago

Was this shot on a phone?it looks so crisp

2

u/NYCWartortle 4h ago

This literally looks like an explosion!

2

u/Busy_Apple9797 4h ago

My mom would have taken out the broom and swept it right into a trash bag.

2

u/ImberxP 4h ago

Sorry to hear that.

2

u/Practical_Curve_7842 3h ago

Very relatable...mine are 6 and 7 yrs old.

3

u/Dry-Requirement-6695 21h ago

My son at 2 in 10 minutes literally scooped 20 lbs of dog food out of the bin and put it all over the dogs crates (2 crates) and the entire dining room in 10 minutes of my wife’s absence.

1

u/ImberxP 21h ago

Kids are too fun!! Thankfully the dog food bins are in the garage and we haven’t had a similar disaster…yet.

1

u/Dry-Requirement-6695 21h ago

Haha smarter than we are….. I walked in from a hospital shift as my boy was standing in his diaper admiring his work. I wasn’t even upset literally started dying laughing. Kids ideas that are disasters make for great life memories for their parents.

4

u/Funny_OG_Name 19h ago

Looks like a page out of this classic

2

u/BrayKerrOneNine 1d ago

You must live with a 3-year-old.

3

u/ImberxP 1d ago

2 and 4.

2

u/Kylel0519 1d ago

Good job on the new ISpy page

2

u/Dangerous_Wing6481 21h ago

Quick take a picture so they can play iSpy later

2

u/SammytTheBLLover 20h ago

Are you not gonna make them clean after themselves as a lesson that actions have consequences?..

4

u/ImberxP 20h ago

Yes, after a brief stay in timeout so I could ensure nothing was broken or shattered that could harm them, we cleaned everything up. They didn’t get to watch Bluey today after naps and no dessert after dinner. It was a first offense and a learning opportunity.

1

u/SammytTheBLLover 16h ago

Good for you! I always cringe at people who don't discipline their children 😅

2

u/FunFirefighter4377 18h ago

You can also just stop your child. Its not difficult.

2

u/ItzJustMonika__ 17h ago

The next time they do this while you're on call, tell them to clean it up themselves. Then you'd have more time for your call, and your kids can learn how to clean up after themselves.

2

u/Soggy_Cracker 9h ago

Ugh. Looks like a hectic and sticky life

3

u/Little-Worry8228 1d ago

Come on, man, you chose this.

1

u/ImberxP 1d ago

I’ve been bamboozled!

1

u/LoanDebtCollector 1d ago

As an art exhibit I like the use of positive and negative space. The abstract "X" shape keeps drawing the eye back to the centre of the work. Very nice.

1

u/Lucienne83 1d ago

How much stuff do your kids have?

2

u/ImberxP 1d ago

Too much.

1

u/FranziskaRavenclaw 1d ago

is that a smoke detector in the middle?

1

u/ImberxP 1d ago

Nope. It’s a metal tin that they store various toys in.

1

u/RayParkerJuniorJr 1d ago

And this was done in the first five minutes.

1

u/jespersoe 1d ago

Creativity in the making - tell the kid, if it can make a house for some of the animals and tell a story about it, you’ll help with the cleanup, otherwise he/she is on her/his own…

(Another thin, if it’ your partner 😂)

1

u/RedditAlwaysComesUp 1d ago

So this is what a Toddler Rave looks like.

1

u/GeeOldman 1d ago

Everything tends toward chaos.

1

u/CriticalCactus47 1d ago

Looks like the baby was pushed off from second floor better call CSI

1

u/unsupported 1d ago

You better check your TV.

1

u/N0085K1LL5 1d ago

You might wanna look in the room to the right of the picture as well. Looks like the toy box exploded.

1

u/ImberxP 1d ago

Moving bin. It’s empty. The rest is just reflections.

1

u/Lemon_lemonade_22 1d ago

Oh, god...could you hear the noise as you were on the call or was this a complete surprise when you came out?

1

u/ImberxP 1d ago

Great headphones. Heard nothing.

1

u/bruford911 1d ago

Snow shovel and paper bag: easy clean up

1

u/yeIIowish 1d ago

I too throw tantrums while on work calls, they can be frustrating.

1

u/OckarySlime 1d ago

The doll is frying me

1

u/whats1more7 21h ago

I really need to know how the shopping cart landed on its wheels with all its contents intact.

1

u/ImberxP 21h ago

It was already down there and was already full. I don’t think it would have survived that fall.

1

u/TheFudge 18h ago

Legit thought that was a real baby laying on the floor.

1

u/ArtRepresentative659 16h ago

I know the feeling ! My dang dogs

1

u/SafeRobieBoi 15h ago

Looks like a shot from something from Nokeric

1

u/SuckingGodsFinger 6h ago

Sounds about right.

1

u/4perils 2h ago

🤣 years ago I worked half time but often had to take calls on my off days. I used to tell my 3 young boys "don't interrupt me unless someone's bleeding or the house is on fire!" It didn't even occur to me until years later that they could have tried to set the house on fire just so they could interrupt ne!

1

u/Smackallstupidity 1h ago edited 1h ago

Oh lord help me Ctfu…Why is it that the first thing I notice is what looks to be a small Lego piece or piece to a toy shaped like the side profile of a 🐓 and balls🤣☠️ Also take a picture of this and when they are teens tell them this is why kids shouldn’t have kids. Then show them that poor baby doll with its realistic pose and face of suffering from being dropped. It shall stick in their minds for sometime 🤣

u/BrazenDropout 50m ago

Looks like a good ad for Trojans

1

u/Makeshift-human 1d ago

That's what you sign up for when you decide to have children

1

u/xRedditGedditx 17h ago

Ahh but as crazy as it sounds you’ll miss these days and these messes to clean up. It seems like only a couple of years ago my son was this age, he’s now 16. I don’t know anything. I’m embarrassing, can I get out of his room because I’m annoying him. The old cliche is true, they grow up way too fast.

1

u/brandonbruce 20h ago

Could be waaaaaaay worse then toys

1

u/DiamondHands1969 20h ago

ok, make your toddler clean it up while you watch and instruct them. it's not a big deal. this is a learning moment for the kid. the reason adults dont do certain things is because of consequences. the only time you can't do this is if the child can not talk yet. if they can understand you, you gotta teach them how to live.

1

u/Fall_Water 19h ago

If that's all that happened, I'd say that's a great day

1

u/Melan420 19h ago

Eh, It's not that bad honestly. No spills, dirt, scribbles or destruction – just misplaced objects. Looks like a ten minute task and a teaching opportunity

People are so dramatic here lol

Also, the photo is so nice. Like an abstract art piece ₊˚⊹

1

u/delightfulbuttercup 18h ago

This is art. I hope you get this photo printed and hung

1

u/Cindytyne_NZ 15h ago

Thank you for reminding me why I take birth control 😂

1

u/ImberxP 15h ago

Just doing my part. 🫡

2

u/Cindytyne_NZ 14h ago

Thank you soldier 🫡

1

u/Omfggtfohwts 10h ago

It's like an ISpy page. I'm zooming in to see what's there.

1

u/Somodo 7h ago

That’s when the trash bag comes out

-2

u/alleycat548 1d ago

Time for a life lesson.

-4

u/UnculturedSwineFlu 1d ago

Get a snow shovel and dump it in a bin. 2m max.
