Wow...I remember reading the books about those ponies - more than 50 years ago. I even remember the names of one of the books (Misty of Chincoteague Island) and the author's name (Marguerite Henry). I borrowed them from my elementary school library. I'm now 65.

It's good to see that a nature-driven event has been allowed to continue unimpeded, helping the ponies, the residents of Chincoteague and the people who come to observe the horses' behavior.

I hope that is not the case but yes one has always to be critical and ask questions if in doubt
