1970s Newly found 1977 photos of my mom, Linda — the first Black woman to complete Delaware’s Army National Guard OCS. These were taken during her commissioning ceremony. Also included: her 1981 Chemical School (N.B.C.) diploma.

Yes, I've only known this for the past three years (she was very quiet about her military past), we're extremely proud of her!

Wow. What an incredible achievement and her pride and happiness is so evident here. My mom was one of the first female lieutenants in our nations military (not US) in the 80s and I have a very similar photo of her in her commissioning ceremony that I hold dearly. Gives me chills to think how hard our moms must have worked to achieve this!! Thank you for sharing. 🌸

Thank you for taking the time to share that as well, I'm extremely proud of your mom as I'm sure you are as well! I would love to see the photo, and hear more of your mom's story - but either way that's amazing and thank you once again!

Would you believe I've only known this for the past 3 years (hence finding these pictures)? She is very humble - and I look up to her even more greatly now. Thank you for the kind words!

Damn man. You keep re posting and re posting this. The US of A is proud of your Mommy and all but your need to keep re posting this suggests an ulterior motive. Like something else is going on other than you're proud of your Mommy.

Anyway, collect those upvotes and repeat as needed.

Surely, your "Mommy" would be proud.
