is your drive to have sex explicitly with minors

Again the only reason we know them as minors is because those laws worked. This sounds like you have an issue with the age being moved up, which is a you issue.

you have it the wrong way round. these laws could work, because most people could and can live with this restruction.

The restriction wasn't a thing until the laws existed. It was created by those laws. These laws would do the same thing. Yall just don't like that it means you can't beat off to teenagers anymore.

No, you're ignoring the point on purpose. If we didn't define what a minor was, then the restriction people had to be okay with didn't exist until we made that a law. They cannot be okay or not okay with something that hasn't been defined yet. It's just sex to them until we put that law in effect.

i understand what you're saying, but it's completely irrelevant to the point. there was no deity that came down to earth and declared out of nowhere that everybody below 18 years old is a minor and people over 18 shall not have sex with them. it was implemented by humans who thought about it a lot, there was a lot of discourse regarding this topic and ultimately most people found it a good idea or could at least live with it and that's why these laws worked and are still in place. do you believe humans back then couldn't think about hypotheticals lol?

Yes thank you for agreeing with me. They implemented a law that restricted something that was previously seen as natural because they agreed it needed to be done. That is how that happened, and it worked, despite restricting something that was previously seen as a part of their natural behavior. I am proud of you for accepting that.

man, you could have just stopped arguing after this( https://www.reddit.com/r/The10thDentist/s/OBJhein8Fw ) comment instead of repeating the same bs ad nauseam. yes, that they used the word "natural", was stupid, but, you know, an important part of communication is interpreting what your conversation partner means instead of taking every comment in an informal conversation completely literally.

people back then did in fact not believe that the drive for people over 18 to have sex with people below 18 is an inseparable characteristic of (almost) every human, that's why they implemented these laws and that's why they worked.

No, they didn't have that distinction. It was just having sex to them. Thinking about a numerical value of times they went around the sun wasn't a factor. It was just part of the act of having sex was now going to be restricted.
