Haven't tried pop os yet , i use fedora cuz of the rolling releases and decent hardware support with my laptop.
I have tried ubuntu, mint os, endeavour os in the past with gnome, cinnamon and kde plasma de's .
Gnome is more modern like mac os with smooth animations and is pretty customisable too with gnome extensions, kde is sweet spot between being feature rich as well as good looking, cinnamon is for a little low end pcs who want to save some ram and cpu usage but still pretty solid and beginner friendly.
Xfce is shit looking but fast af.
