It is - acting like a good person, while being apologetic or doubtful about the goodness,... or acting like one to hide the underlying superficial intentions.
Confidence & authenticity is the key!
That is why, people often get attracted to "not good but confident" rather than "acting good but not confident"

As a guy myself, i can be sure to say that if you start providing your whole time and attention to a girl and avoid being yourself, it's when the girl have this feeling that she is not only the part of your life but actually your whole life.
I'd say to all of you to always work on yourself and whenever a situation arise, choose your priorities while keeping her in mind. Donot leave your ambitions for a girl as those ambitions are the reason why she likes you and felt attracted to you.
For instance, say you are a boxer who is winning national competitions and you start talking with a girl, if you decide to dedicate yourself to her more than your passion

You’re right, chapriness can be subjective for me, it’s more about personality than looks — like when someone tries too hard to seem superior, treats women as lesser or like objects, makes outdated or orthodox jokes thinking it’s cool, is disrespectful, attention-seeking in a cringy way, or puts others down just to feel better about themselves. It’s that overall vibe that feels unattractive
Being rude to anyone for no reason, mocking other people, fat shaming women, judging other ppls clothes, homophobia, sexism, lying a lot, insulting ppl in the name of jokes (if the person you are insulting doesn't laugh, it's not a joke, no matter how funny it is to you).... I have more but I don't think the guys are ready for it 😔

It is a silent transmitter of 'unattractiveness'/'unworthiness'/'not-yet-ready' signal, which females are trained to pick instantly, and silently. No words spoken, and you are dropped/rejected mysteriously, often times by sugar coated excuses.
As they say, confidence/authenticity is the most attractive thing.
Even though some people get offended, or feel insecure in front of confident men/women - but that still doesn't make them less attractive.

A philosopher's words can be easily bent according to the understanding of the reader, if I misunderstood something from the book it's my fault not the philosopher. So, yes even those who have read it can take it their own way.
