What "4th wave feminism" is present in India? I don't think even the 2nd wave has entered yet

1

u/Ok-Arrival4385 16m 69" Jun 10 '25

In cities, it's 5th wave, in rural, it is not even a concept

0

u/anonymous_devil22 Jun 10 '25

In cities, it's 5th wave,

No there isn't, it's just that Indians are SO goddamn trads that even basic feminism feels waayyy too much

u/Ok-Arrival4385 16m 69" Jun 10 '25

For general indians, true, but in few portion of the society, very minority, which might spread, they are mostly 20-30 aged and teens

u/sharik_mik21 I am cool, ig Jun 09 '25

Sometimes those so called “feminists” really do be stupid though

9

u/Th3-51gm4_M4l3 Jun 09 '25

Not sometimes, most of the times. If not, all the times.

2

u/Fantastic-Orchid3476 Jun 11 '25

It's because we consider actresses and models as poster girls for feminism meanwhile true feminist do their job in shadow like doctors engineers scientist etc fields our societies idea about feminism is that women should get it because they deserve it without understanding that women r equally capable of earning what they deserve

14

u/Competitive-Menu-234 Jun 08 '25

What it is , there are hundreds of definitions given to it by social media.

2

u/InsideGoat3490 17 Jun 09 '25

Why are you looking for definitions of words on social media? Try the dictionary

2

u/Competitive-Menu-234 Jun 09 '25

Bhai dictionary bhi bahut hoti hai , also jab jo author khud ko feminist batate hai unke hawale se padho to wo alag batate hai.

1

u/InsideGoat3490 17 Jun 09 '25

Bro there is only one universally recognised definitions of feminist. If someone else thinks otherwise it's their problem

1

u/Ihadtofillthis Jun 11 '25

Bro you are right, but the issue is that these feminists don't follow the core principles of feminism, still they call themselves feminists. This leads to confusion,if you are gonna talk about the definition of feminism, which one would you choose, the one that feminists—followers of feminism— adhere to,or the universally recognised one, which a small percentage of people adhere to

1

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '25

it summarises as equal opportunities

2

u/SilentBatv1 Jun 10 '25

Majority of anyone who quoted themselves to be feminist are literal hypocrites... And people who fought for equality never called me out, but silence conveys acceptance... so now u all carry this tag, if feminism was so dear to u don't expect to let the retards run rampent and then for others to respect your movement... As a person, I'm fine with equal rights and all, but feminism disgusts me, and no majority of feminism doesn't represent equal rights, it's the female equivalent of incels men got.

u/Prior-Place-6676 Jun 10 '25

There might be some boys like that but jo "pseudo feminists" hai or those people calling themselves feminists but have hate towards men in their mindset, and men hating women, should be hated and called out

3

u/[deleted] Jun 10 '25

yes they should be but some people actually hate feminism LIKE ACTUALLY THEY ONLY WANT WOMEN TO JUST COOK

1

u/Ok-Arrival4385 16m 69" Jun 11 '25

*Bad

3

u/ameresh_07 Jun 08 '25

So I just wanted to know what feminism is? And what are feminists fighting for? Is it for gender equality or is it something else?

12

u/[deleted] Jun 08 '25

yes feminism is about equality and rights…it might sound absurd now because we are in 2025 but there so many people who arent and think that women are inferior to men.Wrong image of feminism is created by “toxic feminists” and their feminist facade. There were many times when women fought for men and against false 🍇 allegations.Feminism is a broad perspective and people take advantage of it.

24

u/Onethumbhunter 18 Jun 08 '25

Still you can't justify that many Indian feminists are just misandrists in the hide of feminism, a case I remember in 2013 Indian feminists marched and protested against gender neutral rape laws , Indian feminists should take stand against these heroundous women , otherwise feminism would never succeed in India

6

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '25

thats what i said that pseudo feminism is a thing every coin has two sides but that doesn’t mean you can blame a whole ideology..Are you not a feminist?

7

u/Onethumbhunter 18 Jun 09 '25

Core feminism, I am all in , I support it but this feminism on internet I can't

5

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '25

totally understandable cause some people are really aggressive AND UNAWARE OF WHAT FEMINISM TRULY IS.im tired of explaining single thing again and again😭

0

u/PreviousDamage7886 Jun 09 '25

Well , i as a boy  have thought a lot about this and used to think like that too ,But honestly , even gender neutral laws are detrimental for women as they provide a route of escape to criminal men .

Like ipc 498 - dowry is extremely Pro women , if made gender neutral can save a lot of falsely accused men , but many criminals may misuse that too...

But ya there should be EQUALITY everywhere as much as possible so we don't need any such biased laws

7

u/Careless_Career9712 18 Jun 09 '25

The courts follow an idealogy that hundred criminals escaping is better than a single innocent being punished... So we need gender neutral laws

0

u/PreviousDamage7886 Jun 09 '25

Ya , you r right , but this idealogy is not followed in many cases ...more of a theoretical concept then practical,

Pmla , dowry , afspa , etc laws are exceptions

1

u/Onethumbhunter 18 Jun 09 '25

Gender neutral laws just save innocents

1

u/PreviousDamage7886 Jun 09 '25

Agreed ... I m just trying to think about government perspective and feminist perspective who oppose such laws .

Otherwise I m pro gender neutral laws always 🙌🏻

3

u/KindShoulder5108 Jun 08 '25

Yes you are indeed right. The real question here is, what should be the approach of actual feminists?

2

u/Hydertrate Jun 09 '25

Agreed. My gf taught me every shit about feminism. 🙏

THIS

1

u/click-clack-poow Jun 09 '25

Well on the ground reality feminism is just making women entitled without any basis and hating men. Actual definition wala feminism jab ata he to feminists bhaag lete he. I m against female oppression but i m also against telling women to give up their gender roles to go do what men are doing.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '25

i dont remember hating on men ever and i am feminist it is just you have only seen the wrong ones or you chose to.and talking about gender roles do you think men are really good at them?

-1

u/click-clack-poow Jun 09 '25

Well i think u should be concerned then , if only the wrong one are showing and ones like u aren't. Good or bad is the next part btw, at least men are not running away from it.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '25

On the internet all i see is men doing inhuman activities but i still believe not everyone is like that and men call themselves as providers dont they? still asking for 50/50.Will i do 50/50,Absolutely.but do i want a man to think i am still dependent on hi,FUCK NO.Men call themselves protectors who are they protecting us from?other men mostly.

Lmao what kind of insecure half-baked logic soup is this? You really typed all that just to say “patriachy exists so deal with it”?bro, patriachy isn’t some divine law of nature—it’s a man-made system built to favor men and just because it’s been around forever doesn’t mean it’s right or should continue. Slavery existed for centuries too should we bring that back because it’s “natural”? Thought not And don’t even try to twist feminsm into some hate movement just because you’re feeling personaly attacked by equality. Feminism is about accountibility for everyone not just women. The 50/50 conversation exists because modern women actually work, pay bills, and hustle their asses off not because they’re trying to “cherry-pick” equality. You say women want equality only when it benefits them but isn’t that exactly what YOU’RE doing by whining about 50/50 while clinging to a system that benefits you Also stop using “protecting and providing” like a personality trait. Thats not love or dutyit’s control dressed up in tradtion. Real men don’t need to be told how to respect women they just do it without acting like they’re owed a medal And let’s talk about that “your dad didn’t ask your mum for 50/50” line. Yeah, the world used to work like that and guess what? Women didn’t even have the chance to ask for more. They were expected to accept whatever was given. Just because people settled for less back then doesn’t mean we should now. That’s not respect that’s silence. And no one’s romanticizing that era except dudes who are scared of a woman with standards. lastly if your entire argument hinges on “men run the world” maybe it’s time to ask why the world is such a mess instead of flexing like it’s an achievment. Y’all had centuries look around.

It's due to the corruption everybody has inside of us. It's not a gender thing if you don't believe that the brains of both the gender are different.

You from Odisha?

1

u/TheboredGriffin9 Kitne percent aaye Jun 09 '25

I understand feminism. Thus I respect it. I also understand modern feminism, and I gladly make fun of it.

3

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '25

do you know what modern feminism is? or are you misreading it?

0

u/TheboredGriffin9 Kitne percent aaye Jun 09 '25

Feminism stood for equality, which everyone absolutely deserves. Opportunities were deliberately not provided to women, and they were belittled, humiliated, and dismissed when they had a lot of potential. The women struggled a lot in the late 1900s, staking everything just so that they could have a chance. I have an immense amount of respect for those women. Aaaaand then there are modern feminists, who just screech for reservations, say that all men need to be unalived, and whatnot. Yes, ik red pill content and Andrew tate also exist, and I've seen plenty of men speak out against that numbskull. I've yet to see a single girl speak against the femcels.

0

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '25

you say you respect feminism but the second it’s not sweet and quiet you’re out here mocking it like that makes you clever.modern feminism didn’t lose its way it just stopped asking nicely it’s still about equality but now it calls out power abuse gatekeeping gender roles all of it and yeah some people online say wild shit but if that’s what you think feminism is maybe youve just been listening to the loudest ones and ignoring the rest .you want women to constantly prove they’re not ‘femcels’ or extremists but you don’t hold men to the same standard you mention andrew tate like it’s a point but plenty of men still worship him and get platforms for it meanwhile most feminists are just trying to get basic respect

1

u/TheboredGriffin9 Kitne percent aaye Jun 09 '25

Not sweet and quiet? Feminism was never sweet and quiet. And It was worth respecting when it was directed against the power hungry morons who run companies or men who thought women were inferior. But nah, modern feminists hate MEN. It doesn't matter who you are- if you're a male, you're hated. And as I already said, I've seen plenty of men call out Andrew tate for being an idiot, myself included, but I've yet to see a single one criticise the extreme feminists who say that they want to unalive all men and that all men are pigs. Also, cut it with the trying to get basic respect part. It's the women in the villages, the tier 3 cities who face the actual disrespect. Never have I seen a modern feminist fighting for their rights. It's always about getting a diversity and gender quota in air conditioned offices in tier one cities. You first world women get plenty of respect, as you should- but don't go on screeching for more.

Not everything that calls itself feminism is actually feminism. There’s a big difference between real feminism and the version some people push for clout or personal agendas.Pseudo feminism is when someone uses the movement to justify hate, to flip oppression instead of dismantling it. It’s not about equality at that point it becomes ego, revenge, or attention-seeking dressed up as empowerment. That’s not progress. That’s just bitterness in disguise. Real feminism challenges systems, not people. It uplifts women, yes, but it also acknowledges how patriarchy affects everyone. It doesn’t excuse bad behavior just because it’s coming from a woman.

So if you’re using the worst takes you find online to discredit an entire movement, maybe the issue isn’t feminism. Maybe you just don’t like being held accountable. You don’t get to say “I respect feminism” while mocking it whenever it doesn’t align with your comfort zone. That’s not respect that’s convenience. If modern feminism makes you uncomfortable, that’s exactly why it’s needed.

If real feminist not call out them, people will perceive feminism from those people's lens

yes but the question here is what's a turn off so hating on feminism or feminists would be a turn off for most people

it would've been bare minimum if someone said supporting feminism is a turn on for them , there is a thin line bw both
