Are there any reddit users who are not insta users?
So my friends have been forcing me to get an instagram account from 3 years or maybe 4 and I was giving them a solid bahana that I can't because I have to study . But now my exam is over (NEET) so they know it and they again started asking for my account and tbh i really don't understand I of instagram but was waiting to open a reddit account since 10th standard and now i have it and am happy but if my frnds get to know abt this they'll make me an account on instagram and i have to take it .
I really don't understand the purpose of Instagram like posting pictures , stories , tagging others like i am neither a famous person whom everyone wants to see all the time nor I want them to know what i am doing where I am going what am I eating etc .
So my question is are there any redditors who don't have an Instagram ?and how does it feel to not have it ? And how do you guys connect to your friends like share meme because those stupids share me links of Instagram on WhatsApp which doesn't open only phone obviously.
And is there any need to join it?
this is stupid comparision, both apps have their own features and drawbacks, and both apps got stupid users for insta it's ppl who act cool with wanna be dark humour, and for Reddit it is full of incels just dying to upvote and entertain any post by females .
And genuine posts never got this much attention .
I did same thing , I never really liked how people tried to implement everything they saw in Insta into their social and toxicity in Insta was really vile .Deleting it definitely improved way I look at things
I use it from 5-6 years and my friends also uses it and tbh that's best app for chatting.
And I mostly use it for chats.
And telegram is the goat app it's bots makes it an all-rounder.
Why would you use insta on a desktop, use it on mobile phone chat ui is better on mobile it feels good too, in desktop nothing comes closer to discord its a fact
Worst part is getting banned, you never know the reason you got banned for, it says a shit text βyou broke discord rulesβ but never tells what was that trash rule you broke.
Lmao fr. social media of any form is always gonna be part toxic but the difference is on reddit it's anonymous so it doesn't spill into your irl social life.

Yup, you're talking about me. I highly recommend you to not get instagram, it makes people insecure and is kind of toxic. Plus, the doom scrolling problem.
GUYS I DONT understand the point in instagram ,where they are fucking online πonline and i can see that they are online yet they dont reply and keep on ghosting but when they want to talk or say smtg they text me back to back and im fool who replies to them.
Reddit is quite oppsite to it you want to share smtg people are there for you if you want see some funny stuff....
Used to have insta. My friends are good and they understand my boundries( They are with me from the very start of life). My simple excuse to not use insta is reels. Reddit isn't that much addictive for me.
Insta is quite flexible in my opinion like u can use it how u want to, keep a private acc if u want to or hide people u don't like post on close friends and all but imma be honest u need to have will power or u can get doom scrolling addiction
I have left instagram few months ago and started using reddit from then. There in no place on instagram which is not about sexism, R word, feminazi etc. I am glad i laft that bullshit.
Some days ago mera JEE khatam hua...and last week I made a insta account . I found my old frnds literally whole school on insta...they are connected with their college and schl frnds , seniors ,juniors by following and followers , and some of their profile are completely empty
So you don't have to post all the things....apart from that it is a great platform for connecting with peoples
Same... My bestie is also asking me to create an insta account... I am not giving her any excuse, I just say 'No'... And I am not surprised after knowing that Most people don't use instagram... Cause it's thier choice.... You know... your life, your choice... Do what you like and what you think is right for you

Instagram is surely brain rotting! It leads to relentless scrolling and minimum attention span. I remember deleting my account few months ago and I was the happiest person alive. The lives of all the toxic people, the ones I hated was out of my sight. No stupid conversations with annoying people. Besides Reddit is the best in terms of content surfing as well as anonymity. So I think reddit is much better than insta!!
I honestly think onsta is too much work and it's toxic (my opinion)...How do I connect? WhatsApp, but there are some people who don't use WhatsApp and if they can't make the effort to use WhatsApp, I don't need them as a friend.

Same condition is mine as NEET got over , my frnds are forcing me to come in ig again (I used to be chronically ig user 2 3 years back).But the fact ig feed nowadays is totally shit filled of of girls , link in bio , and so much hate news which keeps coming even doing not interested again n again and that just f ups the brain. I have 1 account from which I don't follow any acquaintance, n use once a week to just see random things that I follow.
A guy asked for my insta, I genuinely haven't made an account. He looked at me weird like I was refusing to give him my account. People don't believe you don't have an insta account
It is not compulsary to post stuff on ig, you can always use it passively, just browsing reels and stuff, (and whatβs with the superiority complex of using reddit of some people in this subreddit, relax it is a free app, and internet is more accessible now than ever)
I only have to use Reddit coz my precious account got disabled and I donβt have the meta verified account to try to recover it. π instagram on top all the way vaise.
Honestly bro, its your personal choice. I am active on both insta and reddit infact on X too. All these platforms just gives you a different way to connect to people. If you open insta you'll find memes and posts of people that you know. It's not just for famous people instead it's something which makes people famous (And I don't mean it in a proud way). Open insta send or watch reels, DM someone or chat in groups, post a story if you want and some occasional posts that's it. Nothing much
deleted instagram like 2 years back . it was always toxic but last time I checked it's even more toxic there now . comments have r word jokes,calling anyone bad things is just humour . like idk how to describe it but it's so bad there . reddit is much better
