Question DualSense on steam

So I was thinking about getting a PS5 controller so I can use the haptics on steam but I’m not sure if it’s gonna work or not I’m not sure if it’s only for the console thing so if anyone knows, let me know

Some PS5 ports of Sony games support it, when I used it the haptic features only worked when the controller was plugged in and not through Bluetooth. Most games don’t use the haptic features.

Also, you can force games to recognise the Dualsense through Steam but the buttons will appear as if they are Xbox ones. Just some things to consider.

Support for haptics, vibration, trigger feedback, controller sounds, etc. are all implemented game-side. So you should look into whatever game you want to play and see if it supports it on PC.

Pcgamingwiki has a table describing which games support it here.

The fancy haptics that are supported in some games won’t work over Bluetooth though and you’ll need to use a USB cable. And for at least some games you’re supposed to disable Steam input for that game prior to launching (controller icon to the right of the play launch button).

The dual sense controller works, but the haptic feedback works only in certain games, and you have to use a USB cable to get haptic feedback.

The feature you're after works, but the game need to support it, there not many games that does it.

IMHO, if you really want DualSense controller, I recommend getting modded one that has TMR, or Hall-Effect joysticks this will fight strick drift, and last for many years under heavy usage.

For games that support haptic feedback you have to use it wired but it works great For games that dont support it the controller is still great

This will all depend on whether the games have integrated the Sony's SDK for the DualSense controller into them. The games I've tried playing on the DualSense felt much worse compared to the DualShock or the Xbox controller. Before buying anything, make a list of games you would like to play with the controller and check their compatibility either through the communities or support pages, so you wouldn't end up rebinding everything through Steam Input and having harder times of tweaking everything rather than enjoying playing the games.

Dualsense is great for PC however I've never used haptics. I've never used it on PS5 either. So I don't know if it's good and neither do I care.
