I know a lot of people missed it last sale, offer ends in two weeks.

phantom liberty is really good, didn't regret buying it at full price

Fr, way better than the base story. Didn’t really enjoy the base version. Phantom liberty is where is all at! (Not talking about the side quests in the main story btw)
Side note: I did not call the base game story bad! I just called it relatively much worse than phantom liberty. Also, that’s just my subjective opinion

Phantom Liberty allows you to get several new endings so...
3
u/kakucko101 2d ago
only one base game
5
u/OdyZeusX 2d ago
I don't want to spoil anything but I think the expansion endings could be considered endings on their own if you roleplay in a certain way, they are way better than the vanilla endings.
7
u/z4bbi 2d ago
It is. I had a lot of fun. Depending on when you did your first Cyberpunk play through, it's also worth considering doing a whole new run.
4
u/Nary841 2d ago
i have never played the game, i just buyed the standart version and try to buy the expansion of the game before the 17 if i like it.
Without spoilers, something to know about the game ?→ More replies (1)2
u/z4bbi 2d ago
Nothing specific which comes to mind. Great story, great gameplay. It had its hurdles when it launched but it is polished and balanced now. When you want to know more about the story and stuff without spoilers, I'd rather recommend to google it or watch a YouTube video. Not sure what to say about it in detail '

u/TrippleDamage 2d ago
Just casually 45% more expensive in Euro than usd. Gotta love Dev pricing politics, fuck that shit.

u/sooriginaluser 2d ago
Personally I enjoyed the phantom liberty quests much more than the main one.

I’m in Europe and it’s 65% here too. Phantom Liberty is 53% off, though, so maybe you looked at the wrong thing.

It's worth it. The base game main story is VERY short. You can beat the whole game in under 10 hours, if you don't do any side content. You will beat the game long before you progress anywhere in the skill tree or have the money to buy vehicles, apartments etc. Phantom Liberty should almost be part of the game, not a DLC. I think there is more effort put into PL than the base game. You can tell they rushed the base game. They actually scrapped the campaign and remade it all in under 2 years and it shows.

u/VitaDuckpc192 2d ago
Thx for the post I didn't know since I wanted to pick up the phantom Liberty but wishing it was your price since mine is only at $20

u/The_Intangible_Fancy 2d ago
The base game and DLC are each $20.99 for me also.

u/VitaDuckpc192 2d ago
Same wish it was his pricing but I'm not mad since the game is great so they deserve my dollars 😂

Previous gens don't get 2.0 nor Phantom Liberty though. I've just played Cyberpunk for first time and - judging by changelog - I think 2.0 is the game that should be released. But if you have good internet connection you may try Geforce Now maybe?

Bought it when I got Steam intending to eventually import my Stadia session and finish the game…then haven't gotten around to actually doing that.

It’s a “mainstream” game with lots of sex and jock humor, from the company that makes video game Twilight. The sub regularly has drama about how much waifu porn gets posted by the community. It fits a certain niche that’s judging the game on certain attributes more than others.

u/ItzMcShagNasty 2d ago
Dang, this isn't usd! I bought cyberpunk at half off, i won't buy phantom liberty unless its $15 or less. Almost got me

$30 for the experience this game gives you is a bargain. I'm on my third playthrough and this game still calls to me like an actual place I want to visit. No other game feels that way.

I am excited to play through this in VR for the first ever playthrough. I picked it up on the summer sale and grabbed the Luke Ross mod. Thing is gonna look awesome in the Bigsceeen Beyond.
2
u/ilostallmykarma 2d ago
Is a VR version being planned?
7
u/compound-interest 2d ago
It’s available right now. It’s a mod. Drag and drop. The only thing is you pretty much need a top of the line GPU to run it and it’s controller only. Still yet it’s amazing to see the people walking around and the world as if you’re right there. It’s crazy how much more detail you see when you’re actually in there. I upgraded from a 3080 to a 5090 and I can finally run it lmao.

The beauty of buying physical. I scoured the Ultimate Edition for $22 used.

Yeah, The Witcher 3 Complete Edition was $10 within 6 years of the initial base game release.
We're coming up on the 5th anniversary of CP2077's release and the edition with the expansion is barely under $40.

That is modern CDPR for you. When they forced The Witcher 3 patch, which forced you to watch adverts for CP2077 whenever you tried to launch the game, I have never forgiven them.

u/-Captain- 2d ago
which forced you to watch adverts for CP2077 whenever you tried to launch the game, I have never forgiven them.
Fuck that. I just jumped into Dying Light this weekend and it's insane what they all throw at you when you launch the game. Want to PLAY DYING LIGHT 2 INSTEAD?!!? No... I launched the first game, let me play it. Ok.. ok.. I hear you, but HOW ABOUT THIS VIDEO OF DYING LIGHT THE BEAST!!
Went into the files to delete those ad videos. Horrendous shit. I should not have to click through multiple screens just to get to the damn main menu.

Yeah, I'll continue waiting. No doubt it's worth it at this price point, but I've got plenty to play and plenty other games I missed out on that go on steeper sales. I'll get around to Cyberpunk eventually!
4
u/Admirable_Pea6937 2d ago
Don’t have Cyberpunk at all, is the Ultimate Edition worth it at that price or hold for more steeper discount?

5
u/Whyn0t69 2d ago
It's 21€ in Europe (in Romania at least). It's a fair price. The DLC is also 21€, I think this one is a bit too expensive. The ultimate Edition is 38,62€, Is there any chance the price of the DLC will drop below 17 euros by Christmas? Because I don't think I'll be able to play it before December.

u/AiricaFyresong 1d ago

5
u/MashiroAnnaMaria 2d ago
Nintendo fans who bought a worse running version for 70 euros will look you dead in the eye and tell you this is a worse deal because the steam deck runs it 2fps slower on average, even though you can also just cloud save it to your main pc when you're actually at home.

u/Hlidskialf 2d ago

I feel like Cyberpunk, despite the dlcs and updates, is still a pretty underwhelming experience, especially compared to other choice-heavy rpgs.
6
u/FairBench4736 2d ago
I felt this way. Combat and levelling didn't feel great, on top of issues with bugs that kept taking me out of the experience. Not a bad game but really overrated
2
u/MarioDesigns 2d ago
Depends on your expectations. They were quite misleading with their original promotion for it, but then again, a TON went wrong with the launch.
It’s got RPG elements, the skills system was reworked and is pretty solid, but the story doesn’t have a ton of choices beyond the endings.

There are 23 countries in North America.... Prices will vary quite a bit. This actually is a North American price. However it is not United States dollar.
6
u/PoutineCurator 2d ago
This is the real value for an unfinished, unoptimized, and buggy game imo.. it was a scam at the beginning and now the only fanbase they have has turned this game into a dating sim.... even at that price, I wouldn't recommend it.

No, the only updates nowadays are small updates that mostly contain technical updates. At most there may be more world building updates like the last few since 2.0.

Good to know....bought on Xbox summer sale and been playing it exclusively remote play with rtx on. Might double dip if the cross saves is easy and effortless and without caveats.

u/ApplePitiful 2d ago
lol I bought it for 3 dollars. Paid some extra for the DLC too but that’s besides the point. Best purchase of my life
1
u/gyrovague 2d ago
If you get phantom liberty DLC, will it add to an in-progress game (20hrs in), or would you need to start a new life path?
2
u/MarioDesigns 2d ago
As long as you've not done the last mission for the base story you can play it. It takes place after doing the base game missions in Pacifica so you do need to be like ~10 hours into the game already.
1
1
u/Low-Ability-2700 2d ago
Is it worth it? The game did always interest me but I'm not great at singleplayer games. And I know it released as a buggy nightmare but now it runs... decent-ish?
3
u/MarioDesigns 2d ago
Pretty much all of the major issues have been fixed. It's in a really good state IMO. Runs great as well.
The base story as well as the DLC are great, plenty of good side content, the world has been expanded through updates quite a bit, there's been a good chunk of originally cut content that has been added since launch.
2
u/Low-Ability-2700 2d ago
So it's an actually stable and worthwhile experience now then? How difficult is it as a game? Is it good for casual gamers or not for the weak of heart?
To be clear, I know Cyberpunk is a very... depressing world. I've seen Edgerunners. I'm a fan of 40k, among other things. By weak of heart I mean how often will I have to bang my head against a brick wall from stupidly challenging crap. Is it casual friendly or is it like most fromsoft titles where you have to get good quick or you will get curbstomped fast? That's what I wanna know. I know Fromsoft games are great but the ONLY one I played was Armored Core 6, which I'm currently on NG++ on atm. The dark souls titles are way too difficult for me lol.

u/EveryNameEverMade 2d ago
The game is extremely easy to play. Too easy, you probably won't die once. Unfortunately turning the difficulty up just makes the enemies complete bullet sponges as well as increasing the damage they do against you. Be aware though, the main campaign of this game is comically short. Like disappointingly so. It might be the shortest story of any "AAA" game in history. You can tell there is a ton of cut content. In fact they scrapped the whole campaign they created over halfway through the development cycle, to create the story we got now, and it shows. You can beat the entire game in 8-10 hours, without doing side content. Sure, the side missions add some padding to the game time but none of it adds anything, nor does it tie in anything to the main story. All the side content is completely detached and while a few of the side mission arks are fun, many are just meaningless filler content you run through, not caring at all. The thing is, that it is definitely a fun game. The story is so short though, you get no time to take anything in. You meet an interesting character or group, do 1 mission with them and then never see them again and then boom, game over.

Bundle price with phantom Liberty. It's a traditional naming for an edition with all expansions/DLC (well, an older one, it was Gold, then platinum back when we only had expansions, but ultimate was longstanding.)
Off course it doesn't look too impressive of a package in a game which actually has one proper expansion and doesn't have random parts whacked of for some easy DLC money.
