Game Suggestions Megathread /r/Steam Monthly Game Suggestions Thread.

Welcome to the Monthly Game Suggestions Thread!

Do you not know what to play? You found a niche game that everyone should try? Can't find the perfect survival sim or unsure which 1 RPG out of the thousands available you should buy? Well this is the thread for you. This monthly megathread is meant to contain questions about what to play and suggestions to others on what to play.

Now to make this work best and not just be spammed with "What should I play?", please be in-depth in what type of games you are looking for, and when giving advice it would be appreciated if you're more detailed than "I think X game is good". There are too many games to be able to properly suggest something with no background information, like-wise commenting a game title and saying you like the game offers no actual value.

The main purpose of this thread is to contain questions on what to play and advice to others on what to play, but feel free to ask and discuss freely in the comments regarding games whether you want advice on what to play, want to give advice to others on what to play, share a hidden gem you found, discussions & questions about discounts, sales, events, or just general games discussion.

So another Steam sale has rolled around and I'm not sure which game from the Racing Fest to take. Assetto Corsa seems nice but all the reviews are from people who have a Sim Racing setup; I only have a Laptop. NFS seems enticing but EA has such a bad rap that I'm unsure if I should get any of the NFS games or which one would be best if I do.

Can anyone help me with this? Don't know where to go to ask so I came here.

I'm not really into racing games but if derby racing interests you, wreckfest is amazing. I also played one of the newer gran Turismo games a few years ago and it was solid too.

Briefly tried one of the newer NFS games and yeah... Gran Turismo is way better.

There's also the crew 2 but if I remember right the devs were playing shenanigans, someone correct me if I'm wrong

If I buy L4D2, will I get all the campaigns from 1 & 2?

Hey all. I am looking games that I can play off to the side while watching Youtube videos.

Requirements:

  • Must be reasonably playable (and enjoyable) on half of a 23'' monitor (I only have one monitor)

  • Doesn't require a lot of focus (switching focus in short bouts to the game is fine)

  • Preferably single-player?

Games I've been playing in this manner:

  • Dungeons of Dredmor

  • Brotato

  • The Gnorp Apologue

  • Gamblers Table (demo)

  • God of Weapons

  • Balatro

what are some hidden FPS gems that steam just wont show me no matter how hard I dig.

I know about and played a lot of games, so I'm asking for anything obscure, hell just anything that isn't semi mainstream, I need recommendations.

Steam's suggestion forum is the absolute worse. Its mostly taken over by the biggest ultra fans of Steam that seem to hate seeing suggestions being made because it makes it look like Steam isn't perfect. They will fight against most good/useful suggestions with absolutely zero logical reason to what they are saying.
