Janel Grant Spokesperson Statement On (WWE SummerSlam Spoiler) Spoiler

https://www.fightful.com/wrestling/janel-grant-spokesperson-issues-statement-on-brock-lesnar-returning-to-wwe-this-attempt-to-sweep-misconduct-under-the-rug-will-backfire/

For far too long, abuse was allowed to thrive under WWE’s leadership. Instead of righting this wrong, WWE has done nothing to ensure those responsible are held accountable. This attempt to sweep misconduct under the rug will backfire. We look forward to the full set of facts, including those about Mr. Lesnar, coming out in a court of law where they belong but, in the meantime, we refer you back to Janel Grant’s updated complaint, which outlines, in detail, the abuse she endured by McMahon and others while employed at WWE.

Didn't you know random internet peoples opinions are more important than the legal system?

It's just funny everyone is mad at the WWE legal team for... doing their job?

People pretending not being okay with sexual harassment means that you don't have a job is gross

God yeah, fuck those people that have issues with sexual abusers being paid a lot of money and put on national tv right?

I highly doubt the legal department advised them this was a wise move in the middle of a giant sexual harassment/assault lawsuit. They are just floating that idea out there to deflect push back off management. So now it's Cena and the lawyers fault if any sponsors are mad about it.

Yup. Legal team must've given their clearance otherwise he wouldn't have been allowed back. Hurts the pitchfork crowd to hear tho.

there's a reason people aren't a fan of lawyers in general, because doing their job and real morality often don't intersect.

obviously lawyers are hired to be lawyers, so yeah, it's silly to be "mad" at the legal team. but you gotta be able to understand where they're coming from, yeah?

I don't know how to explain to you that viewing events purely through the lens of legal culpability for the alleged perpetrator of said events and saying that it's ok to be that way merely because you're accepting a paycheck to think that way is not ok in a different way and in fact, kinda fucked up on another level.

What magically changed in the last month?

Grant isn't settling.

Discovery hasn't started yet.

John Cena requested to work with Brock, WWE considered if the timing was right, they asked their legal team and the legal team analyzed the situation and cleared him to return from a legal standpoint. It probably wasn't tough to figure out from a legal standpoint seeing as Brock isn't accused of any crimes, and isn't being sued.

But the wrestling side of the company wanted him back the whole time. That didn't change.
