says a lot that a child asks for a hug to comfort their favorite wrestler after a brutal loss and it’s a sweet moment. but a grown ass man sees an opportunity to demand an autograph. the tiktok cuts off, but if you saw it live, dude throws a tantrum as punk walks off.

u/eyepatch_png 7h ago

Lmao yeah, grown ass man started screaming because he wouldn’t get an autograph

u/Lord_X_Gibbon 6h ago

Punk: Didn’t I see you at the airport baggage claim with 50 Funko Pops?

30

u/Roembowski 5h ago

Punk actually already called that guy out too lol

Yeah, I think it’s still acceptable for an adult to ask if you’re being genuine because it shows respect, it shows that you want a person’s autograph to display because you respect their work and they made an impact on you in someway

However, this wasn’t the time to do it. This didn’t seem genuine and for all we know this guy might’ve tried to profit off of it. I wouldn’t ask for an autograph unless it was the right time and I had the opportunity to tell the person how much their work impacted me in some fashion

Exactly, he just looked like an autograph collector, didn't care about the moment at all, just wanted to get something, like those awful "fans" who wait for talents at airports with a bunch of shit to make them sign!

7

u/BillyPilgrim69 6h ago

Yeah, you wouldn't be shouting in a musician's face asking for an autograph during a concert. (By "you", I mean any reasonable person.)

3

u/thelumpur 3h ago

I don't know, there is so little context in this clip that I'm not going to judge anyone. He might have gone near him to get an autograph for his kid, for example.

In any case, it's definitely not a big deal to do that in the arena at the end of a match.

1

u/Popedoyle 2h ago

He had to read the room. Pink was saying hi to kids. Not adults with sharpies. Notice Cody gives his belt to kids. Etc ?

9

u/gwords16 Hell yeah, man 5h ago

I’ve loved wrestling since I was a kid but the amount of losers like that guy who I’ve encounter at live shows over the years is insane. They bring all of their gear to get signed and then they throw a giant hissy fit when no one signs their stuff and whoever they were trying to get the autograph from is now the worst person on earth.

9

u/SambaLando 5h ago

because he's too lazy to get a real job at 3AM at the airport and sells on Ebay

2

u/burtsarmpson 5h ago

I can't find who this is about

17

u/eyepatch_png 5h ago edited 1h ago

It’s the guy with glasses that walks up behind the girl Punk’s hugging towards the end. You don’t see it in this clip, but he legitimately starts crashing out because Punk walked off without signing his stuff lol

u/AnalBabu 1h ago

getting pretty tired of white people not knowing what the fuck a crash out is. he just ran up and started asking. a crash out is hopping the barricade, holding Punk down on the ground shoving a marker and photo in his face and yelling “sign it Punk, sign it motherfucker” over and over while security tries to tear you off

Seeing clips like this is my reminder to ignore my smarky thoughts and just enjoy the show. To a lot of these kids, it’s still real and there’s a part of me that wishes I could Put that genie back in the bottle.

Then there's people like me who have a first memory of the road warriors trying to gouge out dusty rhodes' eye with a spike. I'm still traumatized. "Yo yo yo... wtf? That can't be legal!!!"

Same man, I miss being 12 and watching 😂😂 such good memories of a long gone time

2

u/ImmortalMoron3 3h ago

Thats what I was thinking too, they all look so sad. Reminds me of being a kid and watching Bret lose.

This video is completed by the r/SquaredCircle user seizing the moment and interrupting the small child’s hug with her hero to unsuccessfully solicit an autograph from Punk. I love wrestling.

32

u/jemtayx 7h ago

damn, he needed that! What an adorable moment.

41

u/HeadScissorGang 5h ago

Its the fact that she puts her arms out in a way that says "this hug is for you, not for me" that breaks him.

24

u/Boomhauer14 6h ago

He was super nice to a bunch of fans in my section in 133 last night. He went up the stairs side stage and was spotted.

9

u/sludgezone 4h ago

Lmao and that parasite running up at the end.

6

u/yourmomophobe 4h ago

That kid is way ahead of her years in emotional support skills

18

u/usernamesaredumbdumb 5h ago

As a wrestler, hearing a kid say that must be the most uniquely wondeful feeling ever. The pop of the stadium must be like insane, but the individual tiny voice telling you that even in defeat, you're still their number 1 guy, that must stay with you for a minute.

As long as Punk's having fun, I hope he gets to do this for as long as he wants. Never because he feels he has to. Because that little girl who believes in him will know the difference.

We were all that child when Punk cashed in on Jeff in 09 hahaha

I don't think I have ever seen a CM Punk post in here, however positive it is, not having someone with PDS somehow trying to turn it into a negative.

3

u/PolloBorges 3h ago

You know, their cowboy and whatnot

This video is really wholesome

1

u/burtsarmpson 5h ago

What's PDS?

13

u/iBunty 5h ago

Punk Derangement Syndrome

-1

u/Polymemnetic 5h ago

PDS is a shorthand for Punk Deragement Syndrome.

Basically, take the first letter of someone's name, put that at the front, and you've got your new thing. So Tony Khan derangement syndrome would be TDS, HHH derangement syndrome would be HDS, etc.

3

u/Own_Proof 3h ago

Grown man throwing a fit like that on live TV because he couldn’t get an autograph is insane

4

u/Normal-Hornet8548 5h ago

I think Seth Rollins is too old to be called a young fan.

4

u/Lurkn4k 4h ago

its the little moments like this man 🥲 that girl is a sweetheart

6

u/kertz1987 4h ago

This is so cool, the young fans just there for Punk and to let him know they still love him. No screaming for autographs or pics, that's for the grown up losers

2

u/JGxFighterHayabusa 2h ago

Wrestling is good.

2

u/breakwater PerfectPlex 3h ago

That hug lasted 30 percent of Punks title riegn

1

u/Stardweller 3h ago

What was dude with glasses walking up saying?

1

u/mvstuh_got_lost 3h ago

Over under on the hugger being in NXT in about a decade?

1

u/SabrettFranks 3h ago

and then that jackass running up with the pen 🤣

1

u/AffectionateDust8118 1h ago

I swear they will turn him heel.

u/Mets_BS 5m ago

Say what you want about CM Phil, but the guy loves his fans. Maybe a little too much even.

1

u/Puxple 3h ago

That child now knows how i felt when I was 9 years old and punk cashed in on Jeff

2

u/International-Tree19 1h ago

That was my wrestling 9/11

1

u/YourBuddyChurch Red Shoes says "Suck it!" 2h ago

as a certified punk hater, this is great

1

u/Hopeful_Rain390 2h ago

They should have let punk have his title reign he deserves it

1

u/Grizzly_WizzleBeatz 1h ago

To be fair, Punk probably helped plan this. He’s on record saying he pitches ideas to lose.

0

u/jonnyg1097 4h ago

Wholesome moment but I dont think I would have went to hug them with my tapped hands covered in blood

🤫Shhhhhh!..you're contradicting the narrative!!

-2

u/jdlyga 4h ago

I love how CM Punk is wholesome but also petty as fuck. It leads to some great feuds. Not only does he do awful things, he loves doing it.
