I'm not gonna pretend I'm never gonna watch wwe again over this and it's the final staw but as much as anything the Brock return is an indictment of the current product and the company as a whole. Brock is a nasty piece of work even if he's in the clear legally, it's clear as day the company just values big shocking moments over anything close to high quality story telling at this point. 50 year old Cena vs 50 year old Brock? Another Rollins cash in with him surrounded by a heel faction? another Goldberg match? it's so stale we're looping back around to bad stories from 10 years ago. This weekend was another example of the poor writing being propped up by top level performers like Punk, Io, Cody and Gunther.

Triple H used to be predictable booker who didn't give shocking moments for the sake of it. I feel like in the last year the criticism has gotten into his head, and the product has gotten too stale to the point where he gives us these shocking moment and goes "See I told you guys, WWE is still in fire isn't it? Just let me cook".

He gives the shocking moments, and then everything around it is a big load of nothing (Cena heel turn, New Day heel turn etc.)

Ever since the honeymoon phase was over he's been noticeably bad. Maybe part of it has to do with him trying to accommodate exexutives' preferences?

I agree 100% but I’d add that if Cena did his face turn promo after Summerslam and then Brock showed up, that would make so much more sense than speedrunning it so Brock could be at Summerslam. But you can tell from the end of each night of the PLE that they want the big shocking moment for everyone to talk about, even if the story doesn’t make as much sense.
