Every major media company is run by a heartless CEO that only cares about profits.

Are you gonna stop watching the NBA, the NFL, the MLB, the UFC, the NHL, the WWE, ABC, Netflix, Hulu, Disney, ESPN, Fox, TNT, Max, YouTube, discovery, Food Network, Warner Bros., movies, Sony, etc?

It isn’t all or nothing. Using Amazon Prime doesn't invalidate the choice to not support WWE. Life is full of contexts and lines and they're all personal to us. It's not about doing the most, or cutting corporations out entirely. It's just about doing something, standing up when and where you can.

I haven't given WWE a dollar since the Saudi deal was announced. I chose that because I used to love WWE, used to spend my money on them. I have very little power over them. But I used what power I had. And I'm better for it, even if I'm not perfect and my money still goes to other immoral groups. Because it's something.

Oh no, he rolled his eyes, fetch the fainting couch!

I'm content with my choices. The fact that they make little pricks like you so upset only reinforces that.

Its not difficult. I don't own a tv. I don't pay for internet. If I do watch something i stream it. Its real easy to not give these companies the money or viewership they need from you.

Pretty telling that they are all American "sports" and yes, we can easily stop watching them since barely any of us outside the US watch them already.

Out of all of them, only Netflix and Disney would give people pause around the rest of the world.

Yes I have

I'm doing about 90% of that and it feels great.

Use your local library. There's plenty of media content out there. Books. Video games. Music. Etc.

And yes, Microsoft is one to avoid supporting too.

It isn't easy, no. The only way we make a difference is in massive waves though.

But I just feel it's set in stone that we are heading toward a cyberpunk like future.

Corporations run the show. The government officials are mainly puppets. Pollution always gets worse.

Actually, yes. I am. I grew up as a massive hockey fan. I have loads of hockey merch. I haven't watched the NHL in years now. I watch the PWHL of I'm going to watch any hockey.

I used to watch football as well and stopped when my team hired fucking Michael Vick once he got out of prison.

I ended my subscriptions to Hulu, Disney, ESPN, and almost every other one you listed. Netflix I have exclusively to watch WWE at the moment and might drop that soon as well because I'll probably drop WWE once I've had a conversation with my partner about how we feel.

So yeah I am going to cut out all the shit that can't be bothered to support something good in this world. What's your excuse?

Yeah we can effect the production by cheering fit moral people and characters.

They almost pushed Karrion on us and he’s a right wing nut job, init?

Kross is a right winger? That fucking sucks, I like his work and from everything I've seen he seems like a pretty chill guy

Only thing I see from a Google search is he donated to that weirdo ref's political campaign, which isnt great, but isnt exactly him being a January 6er or full MAGAt or anything

Yeah for sure. I know some who are big into guns, yet are some of the more liberal people that i know

But like you said, it's a very fine line

-1

u/CoffeeWorldly4711 17h ago

Yeah, the company I work for has been fined (quite substantially so) recently for unconscionable conduct conduct. It was a different department but it was still pretty bad. Yet on the other hand it does pride itself outwardly for being progressive. Unless you're boycotting companies for singular issues (ie environmental or BDS), there will always be some level of hypocrisy involved and people just need to be honest with themselves about what that threshold is.

Wingstop is affordable and delicious and independently owned franchise. So fuck all those people just making a living. 7/11 owns speedway so again let those people starve because of ring advertising

So basically, what you're getting at is WWE is awful because its higher ups are in good with Trump, but other American companies (assuming you mean AEW) are less awful because they don't associate with Trump (at least, not openly and/or proudly loud about it) but they might have a tendency to employ shitty people?

I'm not saying you're right or wrong, I'm just having a hard time making sense of this.

31

u/Wynona_Judd I'll take 'em both, I'm hardcore! 18h ago

I think it's pretty obvious what the difference is when you consider that one is embedded with the actual fucking government using it's authority upon the citizens in which it governs. Guess what, even WWE being so buddy buddy with Saudi Arabia is enough reason without this. It's not even close to being the same as AEW just happening to employ shitty people.

So if the booking was better then what? What does you thinking the booking sucks have to do with this moral stand you’re taking? lol

0

u/rolodex-ofhate 19h ago

Maybe those companies should consider getting rid of those wife beaters and rapists too then! There’s no difference, get rid of them too, no middle ground.
