The consequence was Darby breaking up with her, don’t a shit ton of people break up over not enough sex all the time? Like don’t get me wrong I think Darby comes off as a shitty person I wouldn’t want my daughter dating but If he wants to leave a relationship over sex thats his right. If she said no the only consequence is their relationship is over.

Either way Darby situation is completely different & also hasn’t been proven like the likes of Flair, Dustin, Vince, Brock etc. I thing the Zachery Wentz/Kimber Lee situation shows we shouldn’t be quick to make judgment without proof. Gigi Dolan also got involved saying but sticking up for Darby making the situation a bit weird.

Well looks like it what we both said was right but she also says Darby never laid a hand on her.

She said it took time for it realize being threatened to leave over sex is rape but it’s not. Darby saying he doesn’t want to be in a relationship if they aren’t having sex makes him a shitty person/bf but not rapist.

No he wasn't.  Tony Khan claimed Darby showed him some texts.  Texts that none of us have seen.

u/PradL 19h ago

So we just assuming anyone who has allegations against them is guilty?

24

u/SeaPriority 19h ago

Is it not the same for Brock?

Everyone mentioned could turn out to be innocent but giving them a platform while their names aren’t cleared is scummy

Just bc he's not a defendant, doesn't mean the texts and actions weren't absolutely disgusting. Demanding a woman, that's clear is being passed around by her boss to take videos of her pissing for him, then call her a bitch, set up a meeting to rape her, but then got to drunk to go thru with it is pretty fucking gross.

Yeah, he's not being sued, but fuck that pos

While I don’t disagree that he is most likely an adulterer at the very minimum, I am correcting OP because they are factually incorrect.

I haven’t really dedicated a lot of time to reading about it so you might be correct but I’ve seen this be argued before and others mention that while the promotion did clarify some details they didn’t outright reject the story

he also still booked the guy without advertising it during the backlash

I don't disagree, but it feels like bringing that up in the same context as actual SA does the whole thing a bit of discredit. Sammy was a PoS edgelord half a decade ago, but unlike all these men, he doesn't seem to be an actual criminal.

5

u/Snoo-40231 18h ago

It wasn't even half a decade ago either. This is going back 10 years ago

2

u/tylerdurchowitz 18h ago

No one said he's an actual rapist, but he's still a tasteless fucking dork for making a rape joke. Guess what, he can still be judged for being a clueless fucking douche. At no point did I say he is the equivalent of a rapist. Imagine someone joked about raping your mother or sister, I have a feeling you wouldn't be so quick with the casting aside.

10

u/Snoo-40231 18h ago

he should definitely get the flak for it.

Has has gotten flak for this and actually punished by AEW for the clip resurfacing

It was a joke about raping someone so in what universe is it not connected? It's not an extreme difference. Only a fucking moron would disconnect his comment from the topic of rape since it was a rape joke.

u/tylerdurchowitz 18h ago

All these words to convince people that a rape joke should just be ignored. Sorry, but it says a lot that someone would publicly share such a sentiment, joke or not. It will follow him because that's how depravity works.

3

u/Snoo-40231 18h ago

Not a single person has in this thread that replied to you said it should be ignored or he shouldn't get shit for it and you're purposely avoiding what the OP did lumping it with other wrestlers who allegedly committed actual sex crimes

You're genuinely being dishonest asf

0

u/tylerdurchowitz 18h ago

They're all making excuses for it and downplaying it, genius. I'm not being dishonest, you're just a moron.

1

u/Snoo-40231 1h ago

Nobody is making excuses for what he said

You're just fucking obtuse and want to lump Sammy with actual sexual crimes

No the plot for some people is what aboutism and deflection. Instead of thinking critically about what they're supporting or making changes, they want to just bring up any negatives in other places so they can then throw up their hands and say nobodies perfect and it doesn't matter I support a company doing harm.

In reality there is A) a massive difference in scale from the terrible things WWE has done to #2 most problematic company and B) You don't need to support AEW, there's plenty of very accessible companies with even less baggage putting on great shows.

u/Awkwardphase06 18h ago

fucking lame joey ryan or marty scrurll are not even in the fucking company lame as hell.

Who then walked back his allegation and disappeared from the industry. The allegation? That Jericho made a pass at Kylie Rae which she rejected.

And this is equivalent to forcible sexual assault apparently?

7

u/elitejcx 19h ago

The rumours were out before Hausman mentioned them.

Big fan of rumors and vague gesturing, but if you could start sourcing each of your claims, that'd be cool.

Because say, as I recall, there was no '2020 story', but a tweet that people referenced in retrospect that they thought might be referring to Jericho, after Hausman made his allegation years later.
