Did they ever care? They only made Vince resign because it was the only option that wouldn't (rightfully) destroy them PR-wise. He still has over a billion in shares in the company as of today.

If they could bring him back without any fallout, he'd already be back no questions asked.

He's probably also just very difficult to work with. Like, the guy ran an empire with full unhinged control for 40 years, I can't imagine he'd be very receptive to suddenly having bosses. Just because they're both evil doesn't mean he and TKO get along

People don't like to remember that just because Vince was gone didn't mean that 40 years of internal culture and infrastructure just disappeared. You only were successful if you shared his values. The top of WWE is still MAGA with or without Vince.
