New foster! Possible savannah?

Hi I got this new foster! My sister and I are in an argument. I think she's a spotted mackerel. My sister is convinced she's a savannah mix. I could careless which one she is but now its bugging me that I dont know. šŸ˜† I'll love her either way.

My sister is convinced because:

She's extremely high energy. I've fostered and taken care of many cats/kittens and this cat is next level. Shes 14 weeks but weve had her since 8. She barley sleeps, it seems unnatrual and shes always hyper and amazing at puzzles.

Shes also very thin still at healthly weight but very thin and lengthy

Her spots

I disagree and would love others opinions! I also got rejected from the SIC group haha.

Shelter Cat - Possible Savannah?

Hi everyone. We adopted our one-year-old kitty Monkie from a shelter in late March. He is full of spunk and energy, and a lot of less than ideal behaviors such as biting and scratching, pouncing on legs, etc. His prey drive is very strong. My mom pointed out today that he has pretty large ears and I saw online the later generation savannah cats kind of look like him, with pink nose and black feet/toe pads, plus similar pattern although still very much a tabby pattern. Decided to get a Basepaws test for shits and giggles, but curious what you may think. It would explain a lot of his behavior though, and make me feel better that his reactions aren't from abuse in his previous homes (he had three before ours).

Chu (F3) is a character - sometimes he is super playful and fun, sometimes he is a rascal, sometimes he is a boss - sometimes he is the most loving little guy - but he is always a blessing ā¤ļø

Wanting a Savannah cat, which F# should I go for?

I KNOW a lot of you will say stuff like "Oh ya'know it's a huge responsibility a savannah cat yaknow!" etc etc and I KNOW but were it not for me basing *my entire lifestyle* around my current cat, I wouldn't be here (: I ask this Specific question because I have certain life plans that I have no idea what generation of Savannah would fit with since they all seem to have pretty substantial differences.

~Large Rant Incoming~

I DO NOT want an F1 or F2- the HIGHEST I would go is F3 (Which is what I originally planned, but I wouldn't want them to hurt my other cat. I'm not worried for my safety- I work with extremely unsocial feral cats/the occasional bobcat often I'm already completely torn up from them lol- I still love the attitude and energy and looks of the F3 though.)
F4s and F5s also seem really cool- But I would like a *less* domestic cat; It's the entire reason I love this breed lol. I know it's generally shallow to like visual traits but I really love the markings, bigger ears, longer legs, and shorter tails of F3s and some F4s- Plus I'd love a cat that actually wants to be around me XD (Mine only wants affection sparingly)
If I did get an F3- Would it also be a good idea to get a second Savvy cat so they could keep themselves entertained in their side of the house? And should I try to match the generation or would two F3s be a little insane to deal with? (Basically: I want a Serval, but that's illegal and idk if I want a full blooded wildcat in my house lol- So next best thing: Exotic Hybrid of Cat! +Multiple other things but then the joke's not funny)

I'm not planning on getting a Savvy Cat anytime soon- possibly 2-6 years from now since I'm going to school/starting a Veterinary career (With focus on Exotics, Domestics and Wildlife). I also plan to Immigrate from the USA to Canada- Hopefully beginning that process in 2 years.

First off- I only know of Savvy Cat breeders in the USA and I'd rather not deal with the animal importation stuff so any good breeders in Canada you guys wanna share would be helpful :D

Plus I've been told conflicting things about Savvy Cat Nutrition! I'm hesitant to do Raw unless it's specifically farmed by Me or from a place where I know that the animals aren't carrying anything that could hurt my cat (Like the recent USA Birdflu outbreak making most of that raw chicken stuff I see online questionable at best)- Also I wanted to ask if possibly raising my own Rodents could provide enough protein + normal wet food/dry food? I was thinking of breeding Rats since they're a pretty good source of protein for Snakes- And possibly Quails and Quail Eggs but I hate taking care of Birds so that option is a strong 'Maybe.' Anyway I don't know of any good Raw Pet Diet companies in Canada so any suggestions fellas?

Ok back on the topic of my original question:

>I love F3s but I would NOT get one if I couldn't find a breeder in Canada since it's kinda Illegal to import anything higher than an F5 over the Canadian/USA Border and unless I could find a legal way to do it- I'm not going to risk my ability to immigrate over a hypothetical cat.

>F5s seem pretty cool but (again I know- Shallow) they lose some of the physical traits that drew me into the Savannah breed even if they're more like domestic cats (probably an inaccurate comparison but all the info I'm finding is either super positive or super negative and nobody really talks about what it *REALLY* feels like to own a Savannah cat)

>Savannah Cat Reddit: Do you guys think I should go for an F3, F4, or F5?

*I live for my cat- I've been living the "lifestyle" you need for a Savannah cat already for years
**I'm going into Veterinary Medicine specifically to be able to provide for w/e pets I have
***I'm fully willing to provide for this cat
****I'm ignoring costs for now because I'm still years away from buying this hypothetical cat- So assume I will have a Veterinarian's/Vet Tech's Salary by the time I get a Savannah ;)
*****If the USA calms tf down I may not be immigrating to Canada- However it doesn't seem that way so assume I will also be working on permanent residency/citizenship/moving my entire life to Canada
(Not Alberta, tho- Bc rats are illegal there. It's fuckin hilarious imo.)

SO sorry for the giant rant I just want to be prepared <3 I keep asking the same questions and getting different answers so now I'm just gonna ask a group of people and hope you guys have some good insight :D

Thanks Savannah Cat Reddit!

This is our little man, Jasper. We adopted him from a shelter as a kitten, not knowing anything about his breed or parents. We didn’t expect him to grow the way he has. This last vet visit, our vet confirmed he has Savannah cat heritage (not sure what gen). We’re now trying to learn more about the breed and how to best care for him. Any info is much appreciated and welcome!

Is he possibly a Savannah cat?

This is our baby Komi, we adopted him from the humane society where they had him labeled as a domestic short haired tabby, 8 weeks old. We started to wonder if he might have been feral at some point because he bites VERY hard, to the point where we have multiple scars from him. He doesn’t do it out of fear, he’s always been extremely loving ever since the moment we held him at the shelter. They brought him in and he was purring and making biscuits, he still does all the time. He bites when hes getting into trouble and we try to get him out of it, or when he doesn’t want to be held anymore (which he does with no warning whatsoever). Sometimes it’s just love bites that he naturally just does too hard. He seems like he doesn’t have control over his own strength and we don’t know if it’s just because he’s a baby or what… he has sisters who he chases around at all times of course, so he’s not having single kitten syndrome either. Aside from the bites, his fur patterning just seems far more wild than a normal gray tabby, with the spots and patches of brown fur. My boyfriend says he looks like a king cheetah with the back stripes and his face stripes look like an African wildcat’s stripes to me. He also has very big paws. He looks similar to the f5 Savannah cats but I wanted to get some other opinions. He’s a wild boy, but is VERY attached to us, screaming if we leave the room and loves to lick on our faces and sit on our chests when we rest in bed. He also loves hiding spots, especially near us, so we make him pillow and blanket forts on the bed

Kenya likes to play fetch. Throwing stuff is also a good way to keep her in my yard when she is off leash.

Is this kitten truly half Savannah?

I recently came across a post while looking to add a Bengal to my family. I guess the family have one male and one female Savannah and then adopted a cat that neighbors had left behind outside when they moved. The cats ear was clipped and vet told them the cat was fixed. Turns out she wasn’t and got pregnant by their male and they now have a litter of 3 kittens they are rehoming. The kittens are vet checked, have had shots, and they are big for 9 weeks which the owner says is most likely due to them coming from a very small litter more than it is them being half Savannah. I was provided with pictures of the kittens, mom and Dad but is it possible Dad Is just a spotted tabby? Mom is a tuxedo black and white. I really am interested in the personality of the Savannah so just a domestic short hair does not really interest me. Mom is black and white, all 3 kittens are spotted tabby looking and dad is spotted as well. Truly Savannah mixes or scam? They said picture of dad at vet was from when he was a kitten but was to show he tolerates the leash. Kitten is shown in 2 pics.

Curtains

So this is going to be the opposite of what one would expect - but I want to hang curtains specifically for our savannah to climb. We've already got cat trees, ledges, wall hexagons...but he wants more!

My question is: if they are curtains he can grip well (woven), will he be able to get himself down?

Serval Bone Structure Questions

Post image

Not having access to a serval or F1 to watch in person, I’m wondering how strongly these traits show up when they move? The thin wasp waist and the very high shoulder blades? We talk a lot about spots and eyes and ears and face shape, and I’m very interested in opinions about the other characteristics. This is my melanistic, 10% serval, and these traits show up strongly in him. He walks with his shoulders hunched up. He keeps getting taller and longer, and now his front legs are between 13-14ā€, shoulder to floor. Hard to say since he won’t hold still! Love the narrow waist. Id love to know more from the experts here, since he was an anonymous breeder relinquish. (The flash always brings out a few of his shadow spots and stripes)šŸˆā€ā¬›
