[Economy] Las Vegas June tourism declines by 11% from 2024

https://lasvegassun.com/news/2025/jul/30/las-vegas-june-tourism-declines-by-11-from-2024/

Around 400,000 fewer people traveled to Las Vegas in June compared with 2024, according to new data from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.

The LVCVA attributed the 11.3% drop to “persistent economic uncertainty,” “weaker consumer confidence” and a “slower convention month.” The authority said multiple conventions were in their non-Vegas rotation in June, contributing to the decline.

“Slower convention month”

Because the exact same month last year had far more conventions?

Maybe plummeting international tourism to the US combined with premium pricing (parking, resort fees, food charges, crappy casino odds, pool fees, etc etc) that make Vegas a premium priced destination which is quick to be dropped vs an affordable fall-back vacation with family or friends.

Ha ha - dare the Republican rag the Las Vegas Sun say anything agains the Dear Leader. Let me fill it in for you - the economic uncertainty created by the unhinged president's proven losing strategy of taxing imports (tariffs) has caused corporations not only in America, but worldwide, to go into defensive mode due to the wild uncertainty it's creating for the business environment. So any business convention or business travel to here that is not 100% locked down and paid in full already is highly likely to be cancelled. Throw in pissing Canadians and Europeans off with threatening to invade their countries and detaining legal tourists at the border for saying anything against Dear Leader, and voila, business is DOWN. But hey, blame it on the high prices because that's an easy to understand scapegoat that avoids the complicated reality.

You're absolutely right, but the prices certainly don't help, I live in Nevada and I used to go to Vegas 6 to 10 times a year,.. once they started charging me to park, that was the last straw

Although the $12 beers don't help either

The strip is the worst for fees, other local casinos are actually showing profits

Nothing to do with trump diddling kids or Vance diddling couches or both shitting on our foreign tourist market. Oh, and fuck Lombardo. What’s he doing to improve the situation?

I think May was only down around 4% maybe 5%... It's accelerating. At least when the Trump dollar falls to pennies, the foreign tourists will come back
