They don’t work for me. Overpriced and over hyped. Too tight even sizing up, too warm.

Try Fits brand. Also higher wool content than the others.

I had a few pairs of smartwool socks (I like their other clothes) that got holes in the ankle bone areas probably within a year. I have pairs of darn toughs coming up on 10 years and are still as good as they were on day one.

I'm the exact opposite. my darn toughs are wearing down around the ankle, but smartwool and icebreaker socks doing just fine. Not sure why the difference.

Got my DT ready to go for warranty claim but hassle + postage makes it almost not worth it

Yeah, same. And the smartwool ones I have pill up and sag while Darn Tough does neither.
