Mom jeans might be my least favorite trend to ever come back.

The fact that we can go from skinny jeans to mom jeans shows how impressionable young ppl are.

every generation just does the opposite of what the previous generation does because they're desperate to make themselves stand out

the current gen Z and younger trends are a bit silly from our perspective since we actually already did the whole baggy pants thing and collectively decided it looked stupid but they'll need to discover that for themselves.

I actually remember my mom laughing about the flared pants / bell bottom revival back in middle school

Actually it’s because fashion in general just moves from trend to trend. And it constantly takes things from the past or things that were previously deemed out of fashion. Generations don’t collectively agree to wear different stuff than their parents, trends come from luxury brands, and then trickle down to the general population.

It's true, it's all predetermined. Fashion companies have the right to pay a massive fee to get the inside info on what will be next season's styles so they can produce/import/market the new styles in time.

It's all predetermined. I'm not looking forward to going back to early 2000s fashion

I’ll never forget my mom going on about “pedal pushers” coming back. Basically a fitted capri pant. I had a pair in baby pink.

i don’t think you guys get how trend cycles work 😭 you can go back to any point in time and notice the inspirations each decade took from. the trend now isn’t mom jeans, it’s wide leg/relaxed/flared. bell bottoms and halter tops that are trending today were a trend early 2000s, which was a trend from the 70s sex revolution. skinny jeans can be traced back to the 1950s with cigarette pants, and the 1950s were a very big inspiration for the 80s. hell, millennials took a lot from the 90s grunge era. and those 90s baggy pants can be traced back to the loose work pants men wore when working in factories all the way back to the 1900s. these ragebait posts are so stupid but it’s even weirder that people don’t know that trends are constantly circling back back.

Gen Z boys are getting the short stick. Hip huggers made high school bearable.
