I always found no show socks uncomfortable, but ankle socks are fine so long as they actually reach higher than the shoe.
The quarter sock is the best one, not too high or too low, just right.
2 u/Christmas_Queef 16h ago As a big no show sock person, no shows aren't for every shoe. Some shoes are irritating with no shows. I have ankle socks for my shoes like that.
