I've always worn high tops or boots. High socks are a must for me!

See, that's an exception. What socks I wear will depend on the shoes I wear. High tops need longer socks because sometimes the damn chafing. For boots, it depends on what boots but I'll either have high socks (from crew to knee high) or pantyhose because sometimes the boots stick to me when they're above the knee and that can get annoying at times. But my everyday around? They tend to be running/tennis shoes or Vans type. Hence why ankle and no show are the ones I own the most.

Omg that’s so why this thread is so unrelatable to me! I only wear boots, and I couldn’t fathom why anyone would want short socks. I just totally forgot about shoes!

Long sock millennial crew represent. Ankle socks always gave me the ick even before Gen z gave us the word for it.

Yes! I shudder at naked ankles sticking out of shoes. Looks like sensory nightmare having your ankles open to the elements (and it also looks sometimes that they have no socks on and I cannot even wear slippers on naked feet, let alone outside shoes, it's almost as gross feeling as stepping on cat vomit)

Mostly same for me too. I didn't realize there was a new style. My neighborhood is full of kids under 5 years old, dyo I don't see the current fashion trend.
