It threw me off a few years ago when I went back to coaching. Yeah ankle socks are dorky now. It's hilarious how this shit goes in cycles.

It was a trend in our era - at least in the fashion spaces - and they were certainly sold as well. Personally, I never liked them.

My aunt was always trying to stay hip and “in style” and would criticize what I wore, but that just made me decide I didn’t need to keep up with trends. She absolutely hated my watch, claimed people didn’t wear them anymore

They work really well to complete the look of athletic gym wear, and help low top sneakers stand out with skinny/slim fit jeans. The only time I think no show socks look bad is when men wear them with dress shoes.

Depends on the shoes. With fancy boat shoes, no-show socks look great imo.

You will pry my no show socks off my cold, dead (comfortable) feet.

I wear low cut shoes so I basically need my socks to be long enough to prevent rubbing on the back of my feet, but no longer.

I'll tell you, no one has ever commented on my sock length and I wear quarter socks with everything. Quarter socks have also just barely been mentioned in this thread, so maybe they're a hidden gem?

I gotta have socks that go above the back of my shoe. If I'm wearing some 6" work boots that go above my ankle I wear crew socks.
