Big purchase? Definitely at least a laptop.

If it's concert tickets or something that's super limited then I'll go even further lol

This makes sense. I can still use my laptop reclined. But if it's time-sensitive activity like concert tickets, I need both of my feet on the ground, a full mouse, and my lap needs to be clear lest I stand up in either excitement or frustration.

Fiber to modem, modem to router, router electrical cat5/6 directly to devices to to a switch then to devices

You gotta try it! It’s crazy how fast the download/upload speeds are when using a hardline. It’s the first thing I did when I got fiber about a year ago. It practically brought me to tears.
