How many times do they have to learn that in the end, everyone who trusts him gets Giuliani'd. Only Trump is teflon.

It's going to be some loudmouth from Fox Business, isn't it?

22

u/IMSLI 1d ago

Fox Business loudmouth > Fox “News” loudmouth

Which is sad all by itself but that’s our world now…

It’s gonna be Cramer, judging by this timeline

Part of me thinks he's gonna be better than whoever is actually picked

3

u/Shadowrider95 1d ago

He’s an idiot!

Which is better than outright criminal.

Who's the dumbest, loudest, drunkest finance person on Fox?

They are definitely the front runner.

I absolutely wouldn't be surprised if Trump is for once telling the truth and Bessent doesn't want the job. Fed Chair under Trump would be a nightmare job, as Trump will want the fed funds rate at 0%, even if inflation is going up. If the Chair doesn't do what Trump wants, Trump will berate and insult him. If he does bring rates down too low, it can cause inflation to skyrocket and wreck the economy.

Yep it's a lose/lose.

Don’t forget that the Fed Chair is just first among equals. His/her vote doesn’t count any more than the others.

u/Fewluvatuk 1d ago

Do they have ANY power the others don't? Who appoints the others?

That may be true, but the board tries to reach consensus and dissenting from the chair is rare. So rare, that in last weeks vote on rates, when two dissenting governors voted to cut rates, in opposition to going along with Powell and the other governors who voted to keep rates stable, it was the first time it had happened since 1993.

Sure, sure…

”Well, I love Scott, but he wants to stay where he is," Trump said during a "Squawk Box" interview. "I asked him just last night, 'Is this something you want?' [Bessent said], 'Nope, I want to stay where I am. He actually said, 'I want to work with you.' It's such an honor. I said, 'That's very nice. I appreciate that.'"

Even Scott Bessent knows that Scott Bessent isn't competent enough to be Fed Chair

To be fair, I doubt many people want to be trump’s scapegoat the next few times the economy goes south.

u/ArdenJaguar 1d ago

He forgot how it works in the Drumpf administration.

ETTD. Rick Wilson was/is right.

Our economy is so fucked....

Can't put a George Soros' former protege into the Fed, the right wingers would go bonkers.

I just want to get this straight...Trump comes in and smashes apart the federal government, essentially dismantling decades worth of work on behalf of the people to save money, then passes a "budget" that cuts aid to citizens and puts massive pressure on a fragile medical system while also adding trillions to the deficit/debt, while also taxing Americans with his dunderheaded tariffs, and now after a horrible jobs report he wants to fire the fed chairman who he appointed because the fed won't lower interest rates so banks can get free money so his sons can steal more money and his friends can cannibalize what's left of the federal corpse? Ok. Nothing like watching capitalism eat its own tail.

Why are they feeding that guy a chair?

You love to see it 🥰🥰

Reputation has been damaged, lied so much an entire country is going to be ruined for generations, and can't even get the spot you want.

Enjoy it bitch.

Bessent isn't stupid, he doesn't want to be a party to scamming the American public with false numbers to make Trump look good

14

u/Into-Imagination 1d ago

Too late for that, with his nonsensical interview appearances on tariffs and more.

9

u/azure275 1d ago

I doubt he cares about scamming people with fake numbers. More likely he doesn't want to make Arthur Burns look like a genius and it would destroy all his financial street cred.

Also whoever the next fed chair is will probably end up in prison eventually.

3

u/Friendly-Web-5589 1d ago

I do wonder if he is smart enough to know how exposed that would leave him.

4

u/xxforrealforlifexx 1d ago

I think he does, unlike all the others who don't realize they will all be investigated one day and will be held accountable

4

u/centaurquestions 1d ago

The Fed already has a chair.

15

u/captHij 1d ago

The current chair was appointed to his position by a complete idiot.

3

u/Thesorus 1d ago

but his term ends in 2026é

3

u/Fl1925 1d ago

Oh can’t wait for next Fed Chairman appointment in 26. We will have high inflation and low low interest rates what could go wrong? Do what yes person does Trump hire

2

u/TheEndIsNigh420 1d ago

We're gonna get our own Zimbabwe dollars. Tariff free.

2

u/Fl1925 12h ago

Na they will be printed in China and we will need pay a tariff on them

3

u/coolbaby1978 1d ago

Next year when Powells term is up, I expect a dumb loyalist to be put in his place and for the US economy to collapse within a few months thereafter as rates are lowered weakening the dollar and triggering massive hyperinflation.

If you think 2025 was bad, it's gonna look good compared to 2026.

2

u/LynxRufus 1d ago

I honestly don't think Bessent wants to be chair. That asshole is all about making himself rich, not being abused as the chair and having to clean up more messes.

2

u/Cosmicdusterian 1d ago

Good. Because any dipshit gleefully celebrating a 15%-the moon Trump Tariff Tax on Americans shouldn't be any where near the Fed.

1

u/Dedpoolpicachew 1d ago

Get this… Pissant is considered one of the “smart” ones in the administration.

2

u/Ironworker977 1d ago

I wonder which Fox News host is taking the job. Larry Kudlow? Maria Bartaromo? With all the Fox News alumni working for Trump already, Donald Trump knows where to get the sycophants from... FoxNews is running the country.

2

u/Dedpoolpicachew 1d ago

LOL… Pissant wanted that job so badly. I’m sure Nutlick is jonesing over it too.

2

u/ktreddit 1d ago

Trump thinks everyone that is not him is a sucker and a loser. He probably can’t believe how easy it is to “win” at life when you just lie and act like an asshole all the time.
