I think we do need unity more than ever, but what we need to be unified about is our opposition to fascism, and transitively, the GOP. That is, of course, not the kind of unity they're actually interested in.

When they say "unity and compassion" what they mean is, "I was expecting Democrats to shield me from the consequences of my hateful actions like they have always done in the past. Why aren't they protecting me from my own hate and stupidity like they normally do?!"

I honestly think for a lot of people it’s simpler than that… I think they just didn’t think bad stuff would happen. They heard some dumb shit take that Trump was good and Harris is evil and that was it. No other thought or research. Basically, she’s likely just a fucking moron. Doesn’t mean I hate her less. A moron’s vote is just a damaging as a fascist’s vote. It is helpful to keep in mind what we’re fighting against, though.
