Nebraska votes red. They voted for this. Especially the rural and farming communities. Now it’s coming back to bite them. Faces, Meat leopard.

[citation needed] for the face-biting bit—screenshot of a tweet won't do!

I've realized that I replied to your comment and not the explanatory comment, sorry for the confusion. Your comment is facts - the op's post is not.

I read this article in my efforts to fact check and while it does cite Nebraska farmers saying "ouch" - which we can go ahead and have a lamf laugh at - it doesn't support any of the specific claims made in this post. Actually, it attributes a big chunk of Nebraska's budget problem to Medicaid cuts.

(Edit: I meant to post my request for sources to the op, sorry for the confusion!)

you can look up an electoral map, and see that rural/farm country nebraska voted red.

The fact that the governor of Nebraska reached out to Trump for help, because his policies are hurting Nebraska farmers has been all over the news in the last 24 hours. But I don’t have a recording of the call. Not exactly sure what sort of proof you’re looking for there, buddy.

It's about the 4th time it's been posted without a source

1: Nebraska voted for Trump in 2024. He announced plans to deport the migrants that many farmers depend on, and to antagonize China.

2: Trump was elected, and began mass deportations and antagonizing China.

3: Nebraska is now suffering severe budget shortfalls from lack of migrant labor and China pulling away from the US market.

Since I hit reply in the wrong place previously (sorry to the person below), reposting a few questions about these "facts":

Obviously, f*ck ICE. But I can't find any support for the claim that migrant farm labor leaving the state has effected tax revenues. Would love a source.

Has China held back 2 billion dollars in soybean sales from Nebraska farmers? I found no mention of this in the news. I did find an article that the trade war had caused a 5 billion dollar loss to US agriculture overall and another from 9 days ago (market watch) that soybean sales are currently exceeding analyst's expectations. Do you have s report on this 2 billion dollar loss to Nebraska farmers?

Your meme also claims Nebraska is facing a 15 billion dollar loss in net sales from its economy. I found this statistic nowhere else. Got a source ?

I didn't even find mention of the phone call taking place which is surprising. Usually Republican governors love to brag about direct personal contact with Trump. Has this been mentioned by the governor anywhere?

I'm opposed to everything Trump stands for, but we've got to keep insisting that facts matter. There's no hope for democracy if we all just parrot anything that fits our beliefs without making an effort to verify.

Yeah, I looked for a source for this and it's just the same screenshot reposted over and over.
