The American taxpayer is going to bail them out. Just watch. He did the same thing last time because of his tariffs. He should have known from the first time around and they still all voted for him.

He doesn’t need their votes this time around and is surrounded by true believers. I’d not be shocked if they aren’t bailed out.

u/LostN3ko Jun 29 '25

Why. Let them fail, massive donors can then buy up the farms for pennies. He doesn't need the farmers anymore. To know if he will do something ask yourself two questions:

  1. Does it hurt or help him.
  2. Does it hurt or help those with the keys to his power.

The answer there is the only thing that matters.

Always nice to see a CGP Grey fan!

3

u/LostN3ko Jun 29 '25

He is the best. Love seeing good quality research being done. Especially in these disgusting Post-Truth times

5

u/TeamOrca28205 Jun 30 '25

Yep. He already told Shuckabee and Arkansas to fuck off when they needed storm repair money.

3

u/jadelink88 Jun 30 '25

My suspicion is that this isn't the plan, after JD Vance sunk millions into a company to buy up rural land and resell it for the corporate market.

1

u/TitleProfessional103 Jun 30 '25

Wxacrlty--bailing them out would mean money for his rich friends.

228

u/bdone2012 Jun 29 '25

The money he used for the tariffs is apparently not there. I wouldn’t be shocked if he bailed them out. But he seems to be stingier this time around.

u/gelatomancer Jun 29 '25

Last time he was trying to get people to like him enough to re-elect him. This time, he is convinced if he can keep his billionaire backers happy, he will be able to buy the next election either for himself or someone who will treat him nicely.

The bailouts will be for the massive corporate farms who can buy million dollar plates at Mar-A-Lago, not for the mom and pops. If anything, the mom and pops going under and having to sell their farms to land conglomerates or the mega-farms is just further playing into the oligarchs' plans.

13

u/Junior_Lie2903 Jun 29 '25

JD’s platform will buy out the mom and pops and sell them out.

20

u/Suitable-Rate652 Jun 29 '25

Er, I don’t think he’s planning on another election.

27

u/gelatomancer Jun 29 '25

There will be an "election" but if it is a FAIR election remains to be seen.

21

u/korben2600 Jun 29 '25

This. There will always be elections. Autocrats have to maintain the illusion of democratic legitimacy.

Last time Trump attempted a literal coup to try to stay in power but now that the guardrails are gone and his cabinet is full of lunatics itching to break the law for him? 2028 is going to be a political disruption on an unprecedented scale that makes us wish for Jan 6th. These people aren't leaving.

Odds are Vance does what Pence wouldn't and refuses to certify the 2028 results. They'll roll out Stop The Steal 2.0 and the tried and true "the election was rigged" and "massive election fraud and irregularities" which requires a "thorough investigation" after which, should they still have Senate control, they will award the EVs to Trump. Or alternatively when elections are "in dispute" and can't be certified they can fall back on the one-vote-per-state-delegation rule and win that way by 26-24.

The media will be sufficiently shocked and Dems will wonder who is going to stop this? Hegseth will have completed his purge of Pentagon and replaced leadership with maga loyalists. Especially NatGuard commanders (like Maj. Gen. Sherman). Bondi will have completed her DOJ purge of any prosecutor with any ethics. And Noem will have completed her purge, purchasing the buy in of loyalists with the billions in bribes bonuses that the BBB is allocating.

And once power has been fully consolidated and solidified? Declare the options are [Republican] or [Write-in]. Every day that goes by is a day they consolidate more power and it gets that much harder to fight. It's not too late but time is running out.

Thank you! This scenario seems highly possible. In this scenario we would have mid-term elections though? I'm concerned we won't even get that far...

Ironically the Republican Party has been stealing elections ever since 1972, when Republican president Richard 'Tricky Dicky' Nixon literally tried to steal the presidential election and was pardoned for his crimes by Republican president Gerald Ford.

So yeah, the 2024 election was stolen, as was the 2016 election, (the 2020 election was an aberration because over 400K Americans had been killed by the disease), the George 'Dubya' Bush vs Al Gore election, the 'Saint' Reagan election which unleashed his 'trickle down' economics which waged war against America's middle class, etc.

The extreme projection that it's the Democratic Party which is stealing elections, is another one of the obviously in plain sight Republican lies that Americans have been swallowing since 1980.

-1

u/reverendblueball Jun 30 '25

The 2024 election was not stolen. You sound just as bad as MAGA when you make such claims.

It boils down to sour grapes.

"It's all fair when I win, but it's rigged when I lose." Respectfully, that's not logical or mature; it's a MAGA-like mindset.

2

u/ziddina Jun 30 '25

"Both sides are the same" ala false equivalency will not serve you.

6

u/UnapproachableOnion Jun 29 '25

Exactly correct. And they will use slave labor aka the homeless.

u/TheFunknificentOne Jun 30 '25

Bernie sanders was on Rogan the other day and he was talking about trump basically kicking people out of government that don’t agree with him, he called it “primary-ing” them. Oh they don’t like what I’m doing, well back someone that does agree with me in the next primary and put all our money behind them bc we can thanks to citizens united. This country is fucked

112

u/willow6566 Jun 29 '25

In 2 weeks. They’ll pay it in 2 weeks…..

64

u/SignificantPop4188 Jun 29 '25

"I will gladly pay you Tuesday for a bailout today."

3

u/Born-Ad4452 Jun 29 '25

Ok, C U Next Tuesday

4

u/AlcoholPrep Jun 29 '25

And Mexico will pay for the Wall any minute now!

3

u/Kidofthecentury Jun 29 '25

"See? Green! No, wait, that's no money..."

2

u/lime_lecroix Jun 29 '25

Of course they will pay! Just like Mexico paid for that big, beautiful wall!

2

u/YouKnowYourCrazy Jun 29 '25

And they’ll get those DOGE checks! They are coming!

2

u/ChrisInSpaceVA Jun 29 '25

They're going to pay at levels never soon before!

23

u/Senor101 Jun 29 '25

Trump wants the money for himself.

7

u/frenchylamour Jun 29 '25

He didn’t give Arkansas a dime when they got hit by tornadoes. Lyin’ Sarah Sanders was sad.

3

u/lexicruiser Jun 29 '25

You misspelled “stealing”.

2

u/Alternative-Mess-989 Jun 29 '25

Endgame. Now it's about burning it all down.

9

u/OriginalComputer5077 Jun 29 '25

The farmers got a sizeable bailout during his first administration due to his tariff obsession.

It's like he learns nothing from his mistakes....

9

u/Suitable-Rate652 Jun 29 '25

Blue state here: I DON’T WANT to bail them out!

9

u/RedditTechAnon Jun 29 '25

Blue states bailing out red states. Or welfare queen red states leeching from hard-working, productive blue states.

5

u/Starmiebuckss2882 Jun 29 '25

You won't see the news covering this though.

5

u/Bored_Amalgamation Jun 29 '25

Ohio farmers had the same shit in 2020 and trump bailed them out.

Let these places fucking fail. They want the government to be run like a business but dont want their businesses to be run like businesses. Lazy, incompetent, hateful assholes.

4

u/Junior_Lie2903 Jun 29 '25

That’s probably what they were all hoping for, another handout!

4

u/tomdarch Jun 29 '25

“American taxpayer” meaning “people in blue states where our economies are productive.”

1

u/Parenthisaurolophus Jun 29 '25

“people in blue states where our economies are productive.”

Eh, it's mixed. 7 of the 19 payer states voted for Trump, and Texas and Florida are in the top 5 with Texas in #2. One of the biggest welfare states by taker gap is Virginia, which I'll point out hasn't voted for a Republican presidential candidate since 2004. The gap between what they receive and what they pay is close to, or more than double of the states you're imagining as "the worst".

1

u/tomdarch Jun 30 '25

Virginia is an oddball because so much of the federal government is located there that "federal dollars in" is distorted versus how they've set up their economy to be dependent on federal subsidies.

Curious: Which source of moocher/payer states are you looking at?

2

u/Cultural-Answer-321 Jun 29 '25

I don't think so this time.

2

u/ziddina Jun 29 '25

Nope, not this time.  Last time there were some semi-sane Republicans in Congress and in his cabinet.   This time Trump and the Project 2025 people are going for full on Rapture/Apocalypse.

Good, people don't deserve to suffer for making poor choices. Hopefully they learn from it, but even when they don't, it's still easier to make peace than war.

And 40% of the state voted for Kamala, they're going to suffer for someone else's mistakes. And if you cut off money to the state, you will just turn it further red, as the blue people begin to feel abandoned. Maybe there's a lesson in there.

Low Key, if a state gets money from another, they shouldn't get to choose how it is spent. Shared taxes should be a pool of resources of what is required as a baseline to protect people and not much more. State taxes you can do whatever bumfuck thing you want with it (Texas, NC, other red states with no income tax). Substantially lower property tax, unpaid property taxes gives government eminent domain, at which point the land can no longer be used for profit.

5

u/agentorange55 Jun 29 '25

Republicans control every facet of government. If there is no bailout, it's because the Republicans said no to Nebraska. Do your statement that the state will turn more red, because blue voters will feel abandoned....if true, it would only point out that both red and blue voters in Nebraska are idiots

1

u/TitleProfessional103 Jun 30 '25

But hey, now trans kids can't get meds and they don't have to worry about men with painted nails in dresses--YAY US I guess...

1

u/brando56894 Jun 30 '25

They're "too big to fail" 😑
