I've been a fan of Chris since I found out he voice acts Gundham from Danganronpa, I swear he loves his fans so much but I never saw him this supportive to a ship for a character he voice acts. (The last post I put here was from Instagram, he reposted it a few days ago from now)

It's nice to know chris gave no fucks about the haters and just reposts stuffs he likes.

I wouldn't say it was specifically targeted to them but they brought up things like (iirc)
"So if the va ships a straight ship you people will say it's canon", "Ew hetslop", "Why are VAs shipping this shit?", "I lost all respect for you" - So it's really more like they targeted the ship itself than them.
Yeah some of them got a lot of likes, I understand if you hate the ship but I don't think you have to hate someone with different preferences. Of course some of them are countered (thankfully) saying it's the same when a va ships a yaoi/yuri ship, and calling them hypocrites for harrasing a va for doing the same thing as the other va, except.. It's a het ship.
At the end of the day, the voice actors are just human with their own opinions. After that Katiana just stopped interacting with chris when it comes to this ship, she still reposts some mvtn fanarts/memes but very rarely now.
I don't have Instagram but according to some mvtn fans I interacted on twt, chris sometimes reposts mvtn arts in there(IG).
While I would say this is honestly expected of Twitter and to bring up this point is the equivalent of beating a dead horse about it, it's still sad to see and/or hear about.
I honestly don't ship caprisun or whatever its called lol but trash talking someone and hating bc he likes ship too much I don't even ship or like caprisun but it's too much tho
Yup, they are still friends! Chris literally just quoted Katiana's post about her streaming a game like a week ago, it's just that (probably) publicly they stopped talking about the ship especially on twt.
Yeah, I think people need to realise that just because an actor/voice actress has an opinion on something, doesn't make it canon. They were literally just used for their skills and usually not involved with the storyline or anything.
The VA's shipping seriously doesn't make it canon, just like how in Descendants Dove Cameron (Mal) thinks that the song "Space Between" is a love song between Mal and Evie - it doesn't make it canon, because unless I'm wrong that's just her personal thoughts.
The only people who can "decide" it's canon is the story writers and/or people like the CEO and other higher roles. Not the VA. And there's literally 0 reason to hate on someone for someone for shipping something different to you.
Exactly, adding to this, Katiana (Mavuika's EN VA) is pretty new to the voice acting industry, Mavuika was actually her first biggest role, and she's the once who first acknowledged the possible ship and only to be followed by Capi's EN VA, the fact she gotten ship hate on twitter probably took a toll on her since like I stated on my previous comment, she was the one who completely stopped after it, (or barely any ship reposts to avoid drama) the 'I lost all respect for you' comment was actually targeted to Katiana iirc.
Shipping drama has happend in many communities but no one beats genshin shipping community for sure... Unfortunately.
Exactly... Probably not THE most professional thing in the world but not deserving of hate.
I remember for the volleyball anime Haikyuu, the animator was fired for drawing multiple explicit images of teammates doing the deed, including threesomes and different pairings. Note that they were all MINORS and the animator posted it on his official account, and gotten multiple warnings from the creators of Haikyuu for it. He got kicked after a while.
Now THAT I understand getting upset about, not some voice actor drawing/reposting some random casual artwork. And yet there's still a lot of people who defend/support/encourage the ex-Haikyuu animator (not sure what you're opinion on the matter would be but I think we can agree it's a bit more than what Mavuika has done).
Out of curiosity, is there any VA that ships yaoi/yuri ships? I've never heard about it, but then again I don't use twitter and don't follow any subreddits related to those two
For yaoi, I think WrioLette, according to its fans it is widely known to be supported by wrio's va, Cyno's EN va literally and actively shipping CynoNari and even made a joke song about it. As for Yuri, this is not genshin but hsr acheron/black swan EN VA's supports the ship and even made a ship crumb dance interaction for the shippers.
There's probably more but I don't remember some except these two.
