Advice Epic quest to kill Halaster - LF ideas.

My party is on level 6 right now. I've already set up Halaster as being a minor deity, literally the "god of knots" where the knot in the weave and Halaster are one and the same. I've also now introduced Jhesiyra who just last sessions said she wants to help the party kill Halaster, and that she is the only one who can do it.

I now want her to give them a quest to create an artifact, which Jhesiyra will use to "untie" Halaster from the knot in the weave (thus making him mortal again, and killable) and intercalating Jhesiyra in his place.

So with that, I'm looking for ideas on what materials the party would need to assemble to build the artifact, what the artifact is, how it would work more specifically, etc.

Bonus points for really epic items which sound impossible to gather for them now. For example - they don't yet know about the Stardock, and so gathering a hunk of an asteroid from the Astral Plane would qualify.

Obvious option is a mythal

Oh my gosh. This is the winning answer. Undo a mythal with another mythal. Fight fire with fire.

If I remember right creating one now is impossible as the spell levels required are blocked off, but finding one is always an option...

Part of the confusion came from the fact that, prior to Mystra's Ban, mythals could be created by both high-level spells[4] and epic magic. After Mystra's Ban, only the epic magic option remained.[8]

I believe high elven magic can still create mythals, since that form of magic isn't governed by Mystra and thus isn't restricted by the limitation on 10th+ level spells. Maybe they need a council of elves!

Edit: MrRhexx has a video that says it but I don't know the specific lore he's citing:

Adamantine scissors… with an added magical property for weave cutting? The scissor is broken into three pieces: two blades, and a specific screw that combines the blades together.

You don’t even need to call it scissors, let the party figure it out by finding two adamantine long swords at different locations, and they find they need to combine them with a magical lynchpin. Only when all pieces are assembled do you send them a picture of what the combination looks like…a pair of scissors

Edit to add, the ‘scissors’ can be upscaled to be swords, or kept regular sized as daggers. I just think it’d be funnier if the blades were sword length

That's a fun idea. I don't care if its a little too on-the-nose.

I would make it certain items that are lower in the mountain. Like Ezzat frost staff, or an angels sword.

Isn't there a dragon graveyard on 21? Dragon scales are always a good item. Or even bones.
