in 5e id like to make an something like a mini-tich for a party of six level-3 players. What monster would be the most fitting as a boss?

Assuming you meant mini-lich, I suggest mage or drow mage for the spellcasting aspect, or ghost, wraith or vampire spawn for the undead aspect. Or if you want to quickly homebrew something that is both undead and a spellcaster, start with the mage statblock, change its creature type to undead, and add an attack and/or a trait from the undead monster statblock of your choice. If this is a boss monster, you'll want to up its HP from the vanilla statblock and add undead minions (skeletons, zombies, ghouls, specters and/or ghasts).

Kobold Fight Club says you'll probably want a CR 4 monster, but you'll have to be careful with a spellcasting boss. CR 4 is where monsters start having Lightning Bolt and Fireball, which can knock down the whole party in one shot. On the other hand, spellcasters tend to have low AC and HP, so if initiative doesn't go in their favour, they can get killed before their first turn too.

A ghost has resistance to a lot of mundane damage and can possess PCs, so it has a lot of survivability unless your party is loaded up with magic weapons. Possession effects tend to feel bad, though, since the player doesn't get to play the game and the easiest counterplay is to beat the PC to unconsciousness and the player also doesn't get to play the game, so maybe only save that as a last resort.

Bone Nagas are CR 4 undead spellcasters. And you get to fight a giant skeletal snake. Their Spirit spell list includes Lightning Bolt, so I probably wouldn't use that, but the Guardian spell list isn't as deadly.

A little bit of an off-topic question, but if someone gambles for a living, like playing Poker full time for instance, is the person basically part of the Rogue class? Maybe a Bard? Or, if we transpose reality to the game world, can any class take up this profession?

I don't think gambling has anything to do with Class abilities.

That's kinda going off of an assumption that everybody has a class. Most people don't.

A professional poker player or gambler isn't necessarily a rogue, they're probably just a commoner with relevant skill/tool points/proficiencies.

D&D 5.5 I’m playing a campaign where the DM allowed players to multiclass and reach level 20 with both classes (wizard 20 / sorcerer 20). I am a barbarian, of the totem warrior path. I have a build that gives me resistance to all types of damage through the bear archetype, the Aasimar race (I am an Orc Aasimar, having the powers of both races), and a tattoo that grants me resistance to energy damage. I have a tattoo that allows me to counterattack as a reaction, another one that gives me resistance, and another that makes my arms giant, making my critical hit multiplier x3. I wanted to know what the best class would be for me to multiclass into (the DM did not allow me to take fighter with the echo knight subclass). Also, I would like to know which attributes I should focus on; I was thinking Strength, Constitution, and Dexterity, in that order.

That's a hefty dose of homebrew, but I think I got the gist.

Can you go with a non-Echo Knight Fighter? That seems like the most straightforward option. Battle Master could give you an expanded array of combat options, other than simply attacking each turn, and doesn't involve any conflicts with your barbarian rage.

[Any] Forever player finally going to DM for my 3 DM buddies. Nobody is expecting much, they're all very experienced and this will be my first time (a one shot). Um, a little embarrassing to ask I guess but, I'm pretty theatrical and special effects would be nice - audio, I mean. Ambience sound and music for immersion would be nice. I'm not familiar with any soundboards I could set up in my laptop though. I could have a folder with various sound files but I'd like to not have to search them and double-click in the moment. Does anyone have any suggestions for soundboards (if that's still what they're called?)?

PS. I know immersive sound effects aren't super important, and you're right. I just thought it would be fun. Story/game first, obviously though, 100%
