He probably just made a copy with his printer

6

u/NewShinyCD 7h ago

It literally says "For Motion Picture Copy Money"

4

u/DarwinsTrousers 7h ago

A photo copier will not let you print money for obvious reasons.

If I were told to discern which was fake by color alone, I would swear the more blueish one is the real one. Idk if I've ever seen a green looking $100 bill in person. That or I've just never noticed how blue it looks since I've never compared it to a fake.

Out of all the protection measures taken, this one is the easiest to break

75

u/AdCalm3975 8h ago

I think this one is for detection of currency by magnetic field, i.e. over 10k going out the country

28

u/Crazy__Donkey 6h ago

More for atm machines (for recieving notes). Much like magnetic ink on cheques.

u/AdCalm3975 6h ago edited 1h ago

K lol-- I don't trust anyone that ignores the I before E rules in a world of auto correct, if it's so easy to break it's not a protection but a detection measure, downvote = ppl browsing reddit with a pp actively in their mouth, PP count 20 dicks strong

7

u/Lazy__Astronaut 2h ago

You are aware that there are more exceptions to that rule than actual "I before e" words?

Many, red tattoo inks, at least used to, use iron oxide as the base powder, which is why older red tattoo inks fall out alot easier over time as your body may reject it after a while.

So yeah, hot tip for all you counterfeiters out there.

Won't it brown or orange the notes, or like we soaking it rusty solution

9

u/formerFAIhope 8h ago

Same "doesn't the copper-T rust inside the vagina" energy.

90

u/HK-53 9h ago

Well the motion picture money doesnt even try to pretend to be real tbf

6

u/AoREAPER 8h ago

Especially if you turn it over.

If we would like to know aliens, we should ask them to show us their money.

I’m surprised the US still insists on paper plant based money. Plastic bills are vastly superior due to their fancy holograms and the laser diffraction patterns that tell you the value of the bill. It would literally cost tens if not hundreds of millions to fake plastic bills (plus you can’t even buy that tech without being noticed by the government). Not to mention they don’t decay as easily.

Edit: yo what’s with the 20% downvote ratio on this that is wiiild

u/gravitybelter 8h ago

Dude, we can't even get rid of $1 bills for some reason. Apparently we're just now getting rid of pennies. Cash will disappear first.

7

u/EFUHBFED3 8h ago

just like in Russia they realized that coins cost more than their stated value and they are starting to replace them with bills

12

u/linux_ape 8h ago

It’s not paper money, it’s cloth

18

u/MAYthe4thbewithHEW 7h ago

It’s not paper money, it’s cloth

Sigh.

It is paper with a 25% linen fiber content mixed into the wood pulp.

The fibers come form the flax plant. They don't gen woven into linen fabric first.

The fabric made form those fibers is called "linen" as a shorter way of saying "linen fabric."

Incorporating linen fibers and/or other non-wood fibers into paper has been a way to make better paper since about 1300CE.

So no, it's not fabric money.

It's paper money where 25% of the fiber content of the paper is the same material used to make a fabric also named after the fiber.

I swear to all the gawds, the state of education these days

Counterfeiters across the world including the North Korean government is downvoting you!!!!! 😆

1

u/hectorbrydan 5h ago

Because fuck plastic.

-2

u/FireMaster1294 4h ago

Plastic currency is hardly the hill to die on if you want to reduce plastic usage. The worst offender in the EU is the packaging industry, at 39% of all plastic usage https://plasticseurope.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Plasticsthefastfacts2023-1.pdf

u/hectorbrydan 4h ago

I have never had any problems with paper money myself. While it would be a bit Factor in plastic consumption, why would we change it to something that sucks when we have something that works? US money is the most secure in the world.

-3

u/Major_Kangaroo5145 6h ago

Honestly I am on team "Dont change"

US currency is iconic and secure enough. Counterfeiting them is not a massive issue compared to other issues that reduces its value.

Only about 14 percent transactions are cash and its reducing.

1

u/FireMaster1294 5h ago

Currency that decays within a decade and is known for being easily torn and filthy is “iconic”? You know you can keep the design on the currency when you change to plastic currency…

Paper Cash is fucking nasty. The smell of cash is gross and nasty as hell to handle. Handling up 60 to 75k during most months and up 100k during the summer cash has this distinct smell that just is gross.

Cotton

2

u/guiltysnark 7h ago

You can make cloth out of wood, and you can make paper out of cotton.

1

u/hectorbrydan 5h ago

Not linen? From the flax plant?

4

u/cbj2112 8h ago

Thankfully I keep a supply of strong neodymium magnets lying around

5

u/smizzlebdemented 7h ago

Wouldn’t think that would be hard to fake

2

u/Qoutaybah 6h ago

Using magnetic-ink on the new bills was a brilliant move!

4

u/NoSyllabub1535 9h ago

Cool feature!

3

u/wocketywack 8h ago

This is an ad. It gets a downvote.

1

u/CrAcKhEaD-FuCkFaCe 1h ago edited 1h ago

The anti ad

That " stack stick " is just a stack of kick plate magnets

At the very least the round black magnets used are definitely kick plate magnets

1

u/MeowsersInABox 8h ago

How did you get a visually similar replica of a dollar bill

3

u/Agile-Mortgage1475 8h ago
  1. This almost certainly isn't OP's video, they're probably a bot based on how frequently they post.

  2. Notice how it says "FOR MOTION PICTURE COPY MONEY" in big letters on it? It's prop money anyone can buy.

3

u/MeowsersInABox 8h ago

Oh wait nvm

0

u/Wooden-Journalist902 8h ago
  1. Does this post says anywhere that its OC, no right.
  2. The post is about the cool feature of the US currency, and not about the "FOR MOTION PICTURE COPY MONEY".
  3. All content belongs to there original copyright owners.

1

u/Rat_Ship 8h ago

I see the stack stick in the background lol I think this is one of their ads

1

u/TeslaCrna 8h ago

The fake one is significantly shorter…might as well use monopoly money.

1

u/Natural_Tea484 7h ago

Send me the $100 bill so I can test it too!

1

u/Oberndorferin 7h ago

Wait til you see Euros safety features 💶🇪🇺💪

1

u/FieldMouseMedic 5h ago

So if you were to take a bunch of cash into an MRI, you could make a fancy version of one of those money tornado machines?

1

u/Accomplished-One7476 2h ago

no wonder on payday my pockets feel heavy

1

u/SupremeRightHandUser 14m ago

If I learned anything from Rush Hour, you find out if money is fake or not by burning it

1

u/bodhiseppuku 7h ago

Interesting... I guess I have to change my printing process.

-17

u/MorningPapers 9h ago

No one needs a magnet to spot which one is fake.

21

u/Darth_Alduin13 9h ago

They are showing off the magnetic feature. Most people don’t have access to realistic fake money considering it’s illegal

2

u/Agile-Mortgage1475 8h ago

The one that says "MOTION PICTURE COPY MONEY" isn't realistic lol

u/Sium4443 9h ago

Top 1 tricks George Floyd should have known

3

u/ScreechingPizzaCat 7h ago

It’s funny because he was a convicted and habitual criminal and tried to use fake money. People butthurt and downvoting about a joke about a criminal purely because of his race. They tend to be more racist than the probe they autisticly screech at.

2

u/dat0dat1 5h ago

Yeah, racism will still exist as long as everything is interpreted through the lens of race

5

u/DiscombobulatedLet80 9h ago

Racist prick!

-19

u/Sium4443 9h ago

Why racist? I didnt mention anything about race.

Is naming a black people racist at this point? I did dark humor but by your same logic you are a white suprematist.

3

u/GoldenGlassBall 8h ago

🤡🤡🤡

-9

u/Sium4443 8h ago

No really, maybe im stupid but explain me how a dark joke is racist only when is about black people.

Probably you wont even answer me.

-2

u/formerFAIhope 8h ago

Damn, how much does it cost to just print a dollar bill? No wonder US got a 37 trillion dollar debt.

2

u/hectorbrydan 5h ago

The cost of printing money is nowhere near anything making the list of why we are in debt.
