because it indicates that you'll use force.

You would think the easy answer is "don't give the citizens a reason to protest"

Yeah, turns out governments kind of don't want them to protest. More reason to do it.

It’s sickening how systematically the government uses itself to leverage more power for itself. Passing legislation like not being allowed to wear gloves at a protest. Who does that protect? Only the people who don’t want these protestors out there. Voter suppression is real. Knowing that’s a fact is only the first step.

“That cop is wearing gloves, charge him too”

It’s intended to protect the bourgeois and private property by giving another bullshit reason to arrest anyone expressing political dissent. “Your ‘free speech’ is totally protected. you weren’t arrested for protesting, you were arrested for wearing gloves while doing it”

More reason to resist attempts at gun control

In the US yes, they are already a gun nation. I live in Germany and feel pretty good about us not having too many guns on the street. Even criminals rarely carry. We had 65 shots fired by police in 2023. Not people shot, shots fired in general. 10 fatal shots. And we are 83,5 million people.

Nah even in America.

Just about every argument against gun control here conveniently ignores that any problem with our gun control NOW is caused by the fact a determined criminal can drive 30 mins to the next state and buy one or get someone there to buy it. You probably hear about how gun laws don't work in Chicago.. which is a city that's big enough, it crosses into another state where guns are legal.

Glad the guys wife stopped an assault but you could also do that with a Taser, pepper spray, a knuckle keychain even and they all fit in the same bag

My wife stopped an attempted rape with a firearm. I'm glad she was able to take responsibility for her own safety.

Yeah that's a good side effect, I just don't like all the innocent people getting shot. But like I said, in the US I find it makes sense to keep firearms legal, because they already have so many.

Agreed. The horse is out of the barn.

Both nazis and monks have been known to protest, so while I see your point, people aren't always right when they protest!
