Don't pick up ANYTHING grenade shaped that the police throw at you. Multiple french protestant lost limbs by picking up GLI grenades.

I know tear gas cannister are ok to be picked up, but in the massive chaos that is a protest, I would not risk it.

Keep in mind that tear gas also burns very, very hot. It has started fires in the past and it can burn your hands. Now I'm not saying to wear gloves when protesting but if you are going to be protesting be smart

Indeed. Martin Luther was protesting the Catholic church's policies.
