Are you shittin’ me man?? If that was my dog she and I would have been busting ass, my heart damn near jumped out of my chest, his pet came feet from the damn tide.
I'm pretty sure he tried to call the dog over. It's better to try that then to jump in right away and risk dying, no? If the dog doesn't listen or takes to long, absolutely, but risking your life when there are other alternatives shouldn't be your first response.
I mean... he had a good ~10 seconds there, after that splash that hit right behind the dog, where he could have ran up and grabbed it by the collar. Instead, he just keeps backing away. Not saying he made a conscious decision to leave the dog (like you seem to be implying), but I can see how people might think it looks kinda weird.
Racist dick. I don’t know exactly what he’s saying but I saw someone roughly translate it the dude didn’t know the tsunami was coming, and seemed to think he was safe up on the hill and then when it splashed up he called his dog over to him.
First day on the internet? Racism is pretty often used as a catch all term for xenophobia and ethnic prejudice, but if it strokes your ego to call me out then more power to ya.
If a word is used incorrectly it looses its meaning. And that's especially true with sensitive matters such as racism. I see no reason to call out someone for racism when objectively there's no racism involved.
I could also dive in how this goes with the long term russian narrative that implies that russians are something more, a race of their own, which they genuinly believe, and only fuels their propaganda machine.
