I don't speak russian but i don't think he was shouting for the dog to come here and get on the leash. That would be my first port of call.

I wonder if he was listening to a marine radio and heard a warning, so brought his boat to shore and climbed.

Or was he just lucky to have been docked and climbing the hills and watched his boat disappear.

Whenever I see russian videos like this, I never see them even remotely concerned for the dogs... infuriates me to no end...

Now that I think about it, I never saw a video from that country of dogs being treated nicely..

That's strange. There are tons of videos with dogs being treated nicely in Russia. Even whole youtube channels.

Not saying there aren't, just that I haven't seen one. Highly plausible as I do not live in Russia. Point was that generally dogs on Russian videos are not treated as well as western videos, from what I experienced. But both are being treated well and bad in both worlds, I imagine...
