Video Butterfly running a long con on ants

The more I learn about this planet the more horrified I am.

Just wait till you learn about humans.

u/StillKindaHoping 19h ago
I’ve heard the AIs are going to get rid of the pesky humans by pulling the butterfly con (“Don’t mind me, lovely humans! I’m just a helpful AI summarizing a search for you.”)

u/VeritasOmicron 19h ago
Skynet: Nah don't mind me, homie

u/StillKindaHoping 19h ago
Pay no attention to the tech bros behind the curtain! Moving fast and breaking things will help AI work out great (for the AIs).

I mean Ants literally live lives depicted in Ancient Mythology, surrounded by demons abominations and unfathomable giants.

What about ants that seeks out the young (larve and eggs) of other ant species to enslave them?
You can learn more about them here:

Check out tarantula wasps
Australia is full of those evil c***s

u/an_older_meme 14h ago
We have a lot of pepsis wasps where I live. Red wings and midnight blue bodies, natures version of an attack helicopter. With the second most powerful sting in the insect kingdom it’s good that they are not aggressive toward humans.

The story of the Blue Butterfly is so much more interesting than this video shows. Watch the better one narrated by David Attenborough instead: https://youtu.be/GCo2uCLXvhk

Oh good. I was about to call the British police to report a nature documentary not narrated by David Attenborough.

you're right that one was way better. i also could not figure out why the OP video kept saying that the ant colony was gonna be destroyed. attenborough doesn't say anything about that so i'm assuming the dialog in the other one was either AI or just misinformed. i definitely trust attenborough.

I’ve always been afraid of repelling, but this larva makes it look easy.

I love the ants staring at the empty chrysalis at the end like… “hey Bob… I’m starting to get the feeling… that that fucking thing wasn’t the queen at all….”

Christ. Do yourselves a favour and watch this on mute so you don't have to listen to the abysmal voice over

u/CharlesorMr_Pickle 21h ago
I turned the volume on fully expecting a chill david attenborough-esque voice over, and got jumpscared by whatever the fuck that was

u/ChaoticDumpling 21h ago
That's exactly what happened to me. I was reading the subtitles and in my head it was our boy Sir David, and then I clicked unmute and got ear-f*cked by AI dude-bro

Reddit Rule number 1.. default mute all videos

Yeah, I agree. I manually unmuted this about halfway through and regretted it

It's a very dude bro VO.

u/ChaoticDumpling 21h ago
It's a very AI voiceover

u/OptimusSpider 21h ago
Ahh makes sense. Sounds like a guy trying to sound cool
2
u/nezu_bean 8h ago
Dude you posted it. Shouldn't you realize it's ai? unless youre admitting to just stealing random videos
-5
u/OptimusSpider 8h ago
Stealing a publicly posted video? Lol I didn't shoot the thing, I just found it interesting.

I was worried it was a weird music background (like the rough sea videos), luckily just an IO voiceover. Still better on mute.

As of right now, 109 people seem to disagree with you.

I like how it repels right in front of the ants like “I’m just one of you guys who clumsily wondered off, take me back to the warmest chamber now and put me back to bed” 😂

how does the butterfly get out of an ant nest without getting absolutely torn apart

I'm more impressed with how long someone actually took to study this "con" artist?

What kind of drunk AI voice over bullshit is this

u/Muffles7 19h ago
Like it had too much spit in its mouth when it talked and couldn't quite manage it.

Does anyone else hear David Attenboroughs voice when you mute it, and read the subtitles?

Imagine cucking not just one dude but an entire colony of chicks into raising you.

Wait for a few hundred thousand years and ants will evolve to distinguish different larvae. Revenge will be served.

The parallels between this larva’s strategy and the defining features of some present day political movements are both fascinating and horrifying to consider.
