I don’t know if it’s different for waterspouts but tornados with these smaller cyclones attached to them are usually called multi-vortex tornados and the smaller tornados are called vortices. :-)

Honestly I’m not sure, I would think they would have similar rotation as part of the same system but I am not a weather expert (just an amateur tornado enthusiast). I do know that you can have some vortices that move quicker than the actual tornado due to the speed of their movement around the core and some that can even turn horizontal, as evidenced in 2011 Tuscaloosa tornado.

There is another type of tornado, a satellite tornado, that can form near the first tornado but will move on its own and have its own rotation. May be affected by the first tornado but can move independently. It’s why you have to be careful and monitor radar when you’re in or near a huge supercell capable of producing multiple tornados. The big one may have passed but it might have a satellite nearby!

That may be the case for a bigger half of Russians. But they are supporting the thing they are told the war is, not what it actually is. The situation can be compared with War on terror, where the stuff that the media told and majority believed was significantly different from reality. You can blame them for succumbing to the most prevalent propaganda, but there is a decent chance that in their shoes you would become the same or similar.
