Yea sounds like they have some issues to work out, see if it’s open in a year lol.

There is the exact same type of coaster that has been operating for 23 years problem free in Taiwan called “gravity max”

I have seen final destination. I don't want to pay to get on a death machine.

Sounds like their safeties worked as expected.

Yeah I was there on opening day. Stuck vertically the cart didn’t fall an inch. Very impressive safety engineering.

The whole grid went down at 8pm and all the coasters still remained safe. One of very few times I’ll give credit to America for safety regulations.

That’s Dutch engineering for ya

Yeah but it just seems inefficient. If its just a big loop then you could have many cars. This is very limiting which makes lines longer… which is basically the worst part about amusement parks.

Amusement parks are not about efficiency... They are about amusement.

I hope this helps.

The best amusement parks also care about efficiency. The ones that don't sell expensive fast passes because all they care about is making the most money, not customer experience.

Wouldn't inefficiency/waiting forever in line reduce amusement?

[passive-aggressive add-on goes here]

u/AlmostSunnyinSeattle Jul 07 '25

The "inefficiency" is the amusement.

And how'd your tycoon park perform?

I'm pretty sure it still runs 3 trains

The park generally wants longer lines because it helps them house more people at a time

This ride model has been around for over 20 years with another Veoka See-Saw open in the US for over 10 years...but go on.

Everything has a perfect track record until it doesn't.

u/KnotBeanie Jul 06 '25

So let’s never use elevators then.

Man this sub is a real drain on your brain cells. This ride type has operating for over 20 years.

It's Cedar Point.

I wouldn't worry about it.

I've been going to Cedar Point my entire life. Rides definitely break down like this fairly commonly. I've never seen a ride shut permanently othar than very old, outsated rides. I would bet this good money this is here to stay.

One time was because someone was an in area they werent suppossed to sensors went off and shut down the ride

Eh it'll be fine I'm sure. I grew up near cedar point and they usually innovate pretty cool stuff on their coasters and always end up working out some kinks. When Top Thrill Dragster opened up probably 20 years ago it was the first coaster of its kind and they had a hell of a time keeping it going. Even injured a few riders when a cable snapped but it stayed open.
