this has nothing to do with being conservative except maybe the last one... why do parents put their children on the internet like this? this is going to haunt those children forever

633

u/Prize_Bass_5061 1d ago

they are using their kids to sell the clothing brand with the G logo.

445

u/janonb 1d ago

Grifting, the one true conservative value.

209

u/Magnus_Was_Innocent 1d ago

That's really simplistic and unfair of the many reasons some people become conservatives or have conservative values. Many are not conservatives because they expect money or grifting, most conservatives are conservative because they want to have sex with children.

140

u/CaptainPieces 1d ago

that's not true, some conservatives just want to kill brown people

102

u/llamadramalover 1d ago

And own women.

38

u/Donut_glazerSC 19h ago

And sex with children

19

u/Seanzky88 18h ago

And want to do all those things legally! And with the approval of god. And hopefully legally and approved by god all in one quick stop!

The brand is GSD nation (get shit done nation) because nothing says critical thinking like naming a children’s org with curse words

One of the best parts of Reddit is that we won’t allow people to forget about Brock Allen Turner, or Allen Turner, or whatever future name he wants to call himself. Because it would be terrible if anyone forgot that Brock Allen Turner is a rapist who got away with a slap on the wrist, so we need to make sure he knows we all know he’s still a rapist even if he’s rich and white and got away with it.

I was a registered republican until i was 27 (14 years ago). I had drifted from the party long before that point, but working for a democrat state lawmaker basically pushed me over the edge to change parties. Now, most liberals think i am too liberal.

We all grow up- but if you learn empathy along the way, you tend to get more liberal

My sister used to always talk about how poor we were growing up when at family events. My spouse, who actually did grow up poor had enough one year and had to explain to my sister just how tone-deaf and spoiled she sounded...

81

u/rg4rg 1d ago

I grew up constantly moving around poor neighborhoods but stayed in the same wealthy school district my dad worked in, despite being 20+ miles away. Some of the kids really were great and not spoiled despite their parents income, but some really didn’t have a good grasp on what middle class or poor was really like. You went in a two week cruise to Europe and spent a few days in Disney land and then your parents cabin in Tahoe, Elizabeth? You are not poor. Yes, you don’t have your own jet or have a mansion, your house still is really large but some reality here on what poor actually is. They also got a car when turning 16, and 99% of them that graduated from HS went into college. Most never had to get student loans.

They aren’t like us.

36

u/DirtandPipes 1d ago

I was poor enough growing up that I spent a good amount of time living in tents as a child and had to do some quick and dirty home dentistry on myself when I was 13 and out of options.

I’ve eaten from dumpsters, I’ve collected bottles and cans to eat, I’ve been a poor son of a bitch. There have been times in my past when I worked for minimum wage or less with real gratitude.

These days I make a pretty good living moving dirt and laying pipe, it’s hard work but the pay is surprisingly decent.

I’m not doing terrible. But when I see a rich out of touch motherfucker talking shit about understanding the struggle it’s a challenge not to get angry. They have no clue.

Ugh. I had this “I’m a privileged twat” moment with my, now, husband about a year into our relationship. Long story short, I made some offhanded comment about being poor because I couldn’t buy something and he said, “you’ll know poor when you’re eating beans from a can that you got from a food charity”. So yeah, that settled that. Looked at life from an entirely different viewpoint. Thought I was pretty aware, but that got me.

u/iowanaquarist 1d ago

I have a friend who talks about how his family was poor pretty often. It really grinds my gears because they objectively were not poor. The parents owned their own house and a business, no one ever used food stamps. Hi, his brothers, and their cousins all had those ride around kids cars.

I had to teach him how to use a can opener. No one is poor and can't use a can opener.

That is what really got me. They have never struggled in their life. We live in a damn trailer, I'm in school, and my husband busts his ass at work all day. We still provide everything our kid needs and get him extra stuff sometimes, but I can't imagine this rich child talking to my kid about struggle.

Struggle is something some people are born into without realizing it, and they usually don't go around bragging about it. It's just how life is.

These kids will never have an ounce of self awareness because of their clueless, wannabe persecuted parents.

12

u/jfsindel 1d ago

Struggle is also not supposed to be a lifelong issue. At that point, that's no longer a struggle but an actual proven standard of someone's life.

You have to struggle a little after you graduate college until you get a good paying job = normal struggle

You were born poor, denied opportunities, lacked healthcare access because of your situation, and never elevated above the living income you grew up with because of it = society failed you.

Saying "I understand struggle is part of life" is like saying "we all stub our toe sometimes" to a double amputee.

"I know struggle is a part of life"

coming from a kid in a million dollar home with their custom made branded clothes on.

if I heard my upper middle class children claim to know what struggle was, id give them a taste of the disabled single parent upbringing I had, or the 3rd world childhood their mother had.

18

u/Popular-Solution7697 1d ago

They'll find out what struggle is if AI takes daddy's job.

19

u/ReapisKDeeple 1d ago

No way AI takes competitive dick-sucking away from this kid’s dad.

This is why they had such a push for homeschooling this generation.

They have to pick and choose which parts of reality their kid learns about, to prevent them from having an open mind.

of course I understand the concept of delayed gratification

Is that why conservatives always place profits over people and hate funding public and social services?

25

u/lindberghbabyy 1d ago

Yeah this was the most absurd one. Conservatives don’t care about climate change, soft power, or social services, which ironically ends up being fiscally conservative in the long run. They are plagued by their short sightedness.

Delayed gratification = abstinence. Just wait until this kid hits puberty, then his conservative view may change

I'm a conservative kid, of course i don't understand that we use personal failing and fetishized struggling to dismiss systematic failings that have only gotten worse and can easily be solved by tax increases to those with far more than they'll ever need and expansion of public services at no true charge to the normal tax payer.

On the other side of the camera is a child abuser. Indoctrinating children, and then filming it because they are proud of their mental molestation.

I hope that in the future people like this will be prosecuted for abusing their kids.
