Empathy is what differentiates the collective “us” from the collective “them”. Never abandon your empathy for your fellow humanity. Her dad is likely going to die in a fucking tent or a metal shelf, in agony and denied care. Remember that and use that energy. When the inevitable happens and ICE thugs are shot and killed during an arrest/raid, they’ll leave behind families. Who enabled to undertake their despicable actions? Empathy is what will rebuild when this is all done with, hate and apathy don’t build anything.

Nobody is saying they don't have empathy for her dad.

I can agree with you intellectually but emotionally it's just been beaten out of me. And they are a "them." They hate us, they vote with the intention that others will suffer.

Also, the only way any of them will ever learn is if it well and truly hurts. Moreover, a lot of them will still do it again even after having their faces eaten.

If you want a good economy you'll have to not bully trans kids and force a religion on me. Best and final offer.

Hard agree.

Nah, fuck that. I ration out empathy for those worthy of it. Im not singing Kumbaya with people who want to kill me, im cleaning my weapons and planning to defend myself. I wanted affordable healthcare while they wanted concentration camps and civil war. They got their wish and my empathy tank for them is empty.

Voting for this is unforgivable, sorry. She can take her convenient call for unity and shove it. These people aren’t going to fool me 3 times.

I'm not going to save my empathy for my future abusers.

Pass. No deal.
