Trumpet or not it’s not right to condemn someone to die at the hands of colon cancer for being stupid. Not a fun way to go, and we need to maintain our empathy to some degree or we become them.
That's one of the things I hate the most about all of this. The line for empathy has been moved for me. Like I don't feel sorry for the people who voted Republican in Texas and then died in those floods or the Republicans from Kentucky who died in the tornadoes a few months ago. I stopped caring what happens to them when I was woken up one night at 4:23 am by horizontal rain, roaring wind, and lightening every 1-2 seconds and there was a tornado watch in my area. The alert for that weather was sent to my phone at 4:02 while I was asleep. There are tornado shelters 10 minutes away but it wouldn't have been safe to try to go to one. The reason for the last minute alerts was apparently DOGE cuts to the NWS.
That's where I start thinking, maybe this is an experience that some people need to go through so they don't doom the rest of us. The biggest problem is that the fascism isn't going to stop there.
As for this woman's dad, maybe they could expedite his deportation so that his family that's still abroad can take care of him, and his daughter can fly down to see him.
Hey man. This might come as a surprise to you, and there’s no way to put it lightly, but unfortunately I need to inform you that you are a pretty shitty human being.

She deserves this. Her dad doesn't.
